South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

I have been keeping mine rotated every 5k miles. You know they are there but it's not over bearing. I actually just installed some sound deadener when I replaced my speakers. I'm hoping that cuts back on the noise even more.

 

I have 8.5/32 of tread left on my Maxx’s so about another 15-18k of life...41k on them right now.

I have to keep the radio turned up to drown out the noise. Bad thing is I take my kid to/from daycare near my work 3 days a week and can’t exactly turn up the music too loud.

Hoping I get this new job at Apple which is 20min from my house.

Upstairs vs downstairs.

 

No idea what that is.
I was trying to tuff it out and use savings instead of credit to fix it. Was doing great with me working 2nd shift because I was out of the house during the hottest part of the day.

By the time I got home, the fans cooled it to around 70 degs with the cool nites we've had.

Might have to break down and have someone look at it. It's pretty miserable right now. Plus I've got a few thousand in guitars up here and I really don't want to drag them all downstairs. The humidity can do severe damage to them.

For that price, I could just have the upstairs unit fixed.

 

Probably just a start up capacitor. What's the unit doing?

 

Just had that replaced.
Only thing I can see is the fan simply isn't turning on outside.

 

Had a Goodman condser replace and then this shit last year.

I think this other guy from complete heat and air fckd with my system.
He came in the house and asked if I wanted refrigerant added, I said sure. 1.5 lbs.

He walked out the door and I followed about 30 secds later. He was sitting in his truck.

There's no way he could of drug his shit out of the truck, put refrigerant in and back in his truck in 30 secds.

Is there a way I could move cold air from downstairs to upstairs with fans?
Not sure where the cold air would go. How it could get forced up there if I close all the windows. You know, because of the pressure.

 

The cold air will come back down by it's self, Lol. the problem is getting that hot air down to the unit. Would be more effective to blow the hot air down stairs, but then down stairs will be hot too.


If the outside fan isn't turning it's either the motor, capacitor or contactor/relay.


If he had already worked on the unit he already added the coolant, it's part of that "diagnostic fee" 1 hour labor and 1 pound of refrigerant. Since you said you wanted some he charged separately. Scummy

 

The downstairs air unit isn't even on.
It just naturally stays cool down there.
Hasn't even been on yet this year.

I mean I could probably leave the windows open and the fans on up stairs, put a few fans on the stairs to blow upstairs and cycle the hot air out......but I don't care to see what that bill is going to look like.

I guess I'll just suffer till Monday and call someone.

 

You ever worked on electrical stuff? I could tell you how to check stuff, but that shit can electricute the shit out of you. Lol. Those capacitors are no joke, even with the service disconnect off.

 

Then for sure you won't be able to hear leaf blowers & lawn mowers if you work night shifts. Lol

No, never.
I plugged a radio in an outlet after I jumped out of the shower years ago. Let's just say it's a good thing my knuckle was bent or I'd be missing a shoulder instead of a knuckle.
I don't fix with electricity.
