    Apparently it was a recent thing when I spoke to a Continental rep just a few weeks ago. It was definitely this year, there is still old stock hanging around in stores and such but once the stock has been liquidated its goodbye Gatorback style belts for good.

    Let me know how the RPM series belts fares out. I have been eyeballing them for a long time now but cannot justify their incredibly high price tag.

    Any notable change with those Ruthenium plugs?

    On Ag equipment here there are two products you don’t skimp on, bearings and belts. The brands farms use if they want to replace things once and get the most lifespan out of it are Timkin/Koyo bearings and Gates belts. I have confidence I’ll get longer than OEM lifespan out of a Gates belt.

    TC L/T, King shocks/bumps, F/R ARB's, RCV Shafts, glassworks fenders/bedsides.
    i just put the ratio tek kit in my tranny, and its not good. doesnt down shift (from 5mph it feels like its in 2nd) and i have a bad flare from 4-5 about 1500 rpm. works great when i manually shift all gears. called oregon trans where i bought it and called ratio tek with no response. i followed the instructions to the t. might it be one of the 2 valves that are adjustable not correct? anyone else have these issues?

    No issues on mine. Runs great, no flare and firm shifting. How much fluid did you put back in?

    Check for tranny codes that may be pending or current... if none make sure you check fluid level again. I ended up putting in 9.5 quarts on an 11 quart system after it was all said and done after a few checks and fills. :eek:

    Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
    I was at 8 going back in. Without the engine running and cold fluid after it has been circulated I could only get 6 qts in. I was never able to enter tranny temp mode, but using an IR thermometer on the pan and with the engine running I got two more quarts back in.

    Just got my headers on. Haven’t even started the car up yet. I don’t suspect I’d notice anything though.

    You need to get the tranny to about 100-115*F to be able to accurately check the fluid level. I dont even bother going into tranny temp mode anymore I just get it to proper temp and check then fill if necessary. The fluid level is important to get right otherwise you will get those weird issues you are describing potentially.

    If that does not resolve your issues then you have a botched install and will have to recheck or have the work rechecked again unfortunately.

    I hear it is the best around... of course I have never tried it so I am not in a position to say.

    It’s the only belt that was suggested to me so I just went with it. Paired with the larger tensioner pulley I’ve got decent belt tension. Good enough for me.

    On a different note. I’m having issues getting this steering shaft joint back on. All I have to do is put my intake back on, bolt the rest of my exhaust back on, get my shaft back together, and I should be able to test drive it around.

    No more one wheel peel for this Tacoma.
    By the way toyota charges a criminal amount for their 75w-85 gear oil. It’s made in Japan atleast. $38 a damn quart. And they put it in cans with no way to pour it into the diff lol. I bought a pump though because I am lazy and I think a screw driver will open the can up easy enough.

    Also on my way home my blower rolled over 25,000 miles. I am itching to turn up the boost.
