After almost 2 months the stars finally aligned (work, girlfriend, weather) for me to install my lift. 2 1/2" Headstrong coils, Headstrong add a leaf, 5100s and JBA ucas. Not sure why, but "bending" the sheet metal out of the way to get the uca bolts out of the way with channel locks, vice grips, etc. wasn't even close to giving me enough room. On the driver side had to remove the battery and on the passenger side had to remove the power steering reservoir. After removing these I ended up putting a cold chisel in a deep socket, attached to a 24" long 3/8 extension and beat on that with a 3 lb sledge to move the inner fenderwell, battery support and other sheet metal enough to actually get the bolts out. Added about 30 - 45 mins per side.l wasn't going to reinstall the overloads originally but glad I did. It seems to be pretty level now, almost hoping the front settles a little bit. I still need to get an alignment, which comes on Monday.

First oil change since I bought my 2015. Came out dark but good consistency, about what I expected based on the maintenance records.

Anyone else notice their 1GR takes right at 6 quarts? Mine had the tow package, I thought maybe an oil cooler but was curious about everyone’s experience.

My monster channel locks and large pry bar followed by tapping it out with a 3/8” extension got me through it. I didn’t have to remove any body parts but it was frustrating.

Plugs and air filter today...they were in rough shape. They may have been original as they are the Denso & NGK combo :facepalm:I have only owned it for less than 10k...cured the Tacoma "flutter/spark knock" too.
Gap on the ones I pulled averaged .70 !!

Finished the brakes and the double clip mod. However the double clip mod didn’t solve the clunk sound when going over a bump -_-

Didn’t have time for the front struts replacement, tomorrow mornings goal...

Edit: after the front suspension, no more clink noise up front. All sounds buttery

Yeah, autonation dealerships will charge $400+ but if you call around you should be able to get it around $200

I think there was something wrong with my trans that was causing it to wear. I dont think this is normal wear

The local quick lube near me quoted me at around $370 (near Boston). Considering I have ~113k miles of New England winters on mine, it may be worth it for all the seized nuts id have to work through

Im just sayin if it were me I’d take it to the local yota dealership what’s got someone’s name in the title. the autonation toyota guys seemed dumbfounded that i could get the exact same work they were gonna do for $half at a competing toyota dealership not far from them(Denver area, not sure if location has a big impact on the price but got that whole shabang for $200). Just my 2¢

Got to put everything back together but finally no more chrome. Still need to do something to the plastic on bumper top but that’s another time. 56EA8581-A542-47CC-BE1B-B83A1A5EF575.jpg
