Is it something I can do myself with TechStream or something similar? I haven't really used it, so I'm a noob.

I had some stuff going on this evening, probably will try in the AM. I’m assuming I just flash it to 04B04 and then flash the 1.05.1 for 04B04 back over it?

I just download techstream etc. If any of u who are on the fence of doing this and are afraid... Downloading tech stream etc is way easier than downloading ovtune programs... I don't know why I waited this long.

Thank you sir for sharing the info...

My memory is that I couldn’t do both in the same “session.” I had to turn the truck off and then back on (not running) before I could flash a 04B04 tune. In fact I think I even ran the identify from the OV program and read 04B03 until I cycled off/on. I could be wrong, but keep that in your back pocket if you get hung up.

Yes. Flash tsb, turn truck off and start it. Then turn it back off. Turn it back on to ignition w/o truck running and flash 105. Turn truck off and then start it and you're good to go.

It should just register and show up once you plug it in. I'd be sure to have the drivers installed just to be sure.

Where do I get the drivers? It's not showing in the dropdown when plugged in just a couple other drivers I have installed.

Watch the video on post #1, but the first option under Tuning is to install cable drivers.

My truck is very twitchy when I start. Like from a stop etc. I started with a fresh performance 87 and LV AT reset. 250miles done

    Anything I can do?

    Sorry for my English

You can try 87 Base. The tip in isn't as aggressive/twitchy as Performance 87.

I second @Deucer01 ’s advice. Mat has said a tune version will be released “soon” with a slightly less aggressive tip-in.

Sorry for your English? Man, it looks great to me. I have to study a lot of the posts from some to decide what they’re trying to say. They’re either drunk, high, illiterate, or some combination of the above! Lol.

I just hope it’s not because of texting while driving!:sadviolin:

That sounds like your tuner only tunes AFR - without respect for timing. It doesnt matter if you have WRX or Tacoma - the rules are same. Timing adv must be properly matched with AFR for a healthy engine that keeps its cool across the RPM band without ping - and runs safe EGTs. NA engines are typically run a tad leaner AFRs than those boosted etc but thats just a safety margin - right is right.

@OVTune Mat- I just noticed there's an 2.0.X EROM option in the tunes download pull-down menu. I only get an error when I try to download, but was curious what's going on. I didn't notice anything on page 1 or the OVTune website. I humbly suggest a page 1 blurb about this before a tsunami of posts/emails/service requests hits your inbox.

I agree about page 1, but I'm pretty sure it only showed in the tune pull down menu just recently. I could certainly be mistaken, but I was hoping there was some tune movement afoot!
