Apparently ARB is the only one touting their bumper as 100% air bag compliant/functional. If that sort of thing matters. I've always been partial to the ARB - it was the first one I saw on the first gen and damn if its not one solid chunk of armor.

Don't know enough about the meth setup...

I've always like the ARB too, it's got that OG utilitarian offroad look that works on 1st gens (2nd and 3rd not so much). I do think there are a couple better looking ones like the Relentless Predator but it's damn near double the cost, and like you said the ARB is the only one that works with the airbag sensor that I know of.

Oh hell yeah lol, I bought it for nearly a grand. I'm keeping the fuel pump it came with but definitely would sell the rest for more than 100 haha

1st gen tacos only have 2 air bag sensors up front mount about mid way in the engine bay and then the center one behind the dash. The bumper on our trucks have nothing to do with airbags vs newer cars that have sensors in the bumpers

Should of asked for help. I have a hoist and a pallet jack that you could of used to help hold the bumper up while getting it on

That’s right. The Tacoma used an inertial airbag computer up to around 2000-2001ish. After that they switched to actual sensors in the fenders of the truck.

I’d say for 1995-2001 airbag compliance doesn’t really matter.

you're starting to 'sound' like tyler but thx for the explanation

just going off what arb talks about under their 1st gen product info, but hey - as long as the damn thing deploys if it has too and doesn't shred away with fragments...

my 01 has the sensors in the fender.

Wonder how the airbag harnesses hold up after they’ve been deployed. I’ve seen airbag squibs at the steering wheel completely melted from deploying.
