Hey guys whats up, Kinda new to this forum.
Dont reallly know where to start but...

My 2017 4x4Sport 29K miles just out of no where cannot fully turn off.
Truck stays in accessory mode or will turn back on.
Smart key battery was my first go to. not the problem here..

Normal drive home after work put car in park pushed button to turn off.
Noticed my ac kept running.. Tried a few times to turn off and back on still nothing.
Ended up taking out negative side of the battery to turn the power off.

    BUT. Long story short.
Toyota servco dealer has had my truck for almost 3 weeks and cant find out the problem.
They replaced the fuse box, ecu, and ignition for problems but still nothing..
To them this is very interesting because they have not seen anything like this.
Also they are going back and forth with toyota engineers *TAS and still nothing

    No modifications on the truck.

has anyone had a problem like this?
for now taco is covered under warranty.

Mine won’t shut off if it’s not in park, obviously the truck is in park I imagine but maybe a park switch or something seems to be the most obvious ? This is me just being an internet mechanic though

Brake switch or park switch on tranny. Or a wire in between switch those switches to ecu is grounding out and causing the issue.

Did you install any thing at all aftermarket into the truck where by you ran wires through the firewall near any other wire and perhaps damaged something?

Bottom right of someone’s post it says quote. Try that instead of copying and pasting. It makes it very clear what you are replying to and who posted what.

I find this whole issue a bit eerie.

I’d have the dealer keep the truck until they found a solution.

    All of a sudden?
I'd guess a stuck relay; EFI Main No.1, EFI Main No.2, IG2 Main, etc.

they checked for that too. :(
i also asked if they could switch it from keyless to key since u can manually turn off the power. Due to continuously still drawing power.
    but nope. still same issue.

And even better mine turned itself back on after I left it for the day. It shut down like normal and locked the doors no problem. I came back 5 hours later to the radio on and the doors locked with a useless smart key, luckily I could still unlock the doors with the regular key.
