Ran a 5.0L supercharged v8 Jaguar XJ tonight. I had em by a couple car lengths early on, but he came around me on the big end. Still very impressed with how the truck did, held it's own against a big s/c'd v8:D

I left a Ferrari FF in the dust today. I mean he didn’t know we were racing but a win is a win.

Those of you with armor and skids and 33s did you regear with the blower too and did that really made a big difference? Is it worth doing?

Best mod next to the blower. Well worth it. With 33’s you’ll want 4.30 or 4.56 gearing. I suggest the 4.56

No regear or true locker. I found this stock limited slip diff on here for cheap so I picked it up. Now I have an extra diff I can send off to be built. Now I just gotta find an extra front diff and I’ll be set.

Also I was amazed at how clean my diff oil was. Hardly any metal on the magnet too. Most annoying part of the project had to be getting the drive shaft bolts loose. Those sum guns were on there tighter than a virgin. Also having to disconnect the brake lines, but I hate bleeding brakes thats the only reason I am complaining.

Don’t need to disconnect the brake lines. Just need to unbolt the brackets on the hard lines and stretch them out a bit. I did no brake bleeding on my diff swap.

You sure? I felt like the bracket towards the driverside that holds both lines together would have prevented it. Oh well now I know for next time.

Damn I wish I didn’t doubt myself now. Oh well it’s been about 2 years since I have flushed the brake fluid so it’s about that time.

4:30 with no armor, but I do have 33s , a stealth winch mount and winch, bed cage and boxed frame, Soo I do have a little extra weight, and 4:30 was perfect, doing anywhere under 25mph and stepping on it and I burn out, I can see how if you have full armor and skids, you might want to go to 4:56 but honestly 4:30s feels amazing. And yes it made a difference.

Second that, it is possible and makes it a lot easier

Why 4.56 over 4.30? Also any other mods that are a must. Smaller pulley, fuel pump etc.

Do you think 4.56 would be over geared? My armors mostly on the light side and I just have a canopy and prinsu on it. Maybe a tent again someday.

In my opinion, yes, you would be over geared, but I’ve never ran 4:56s so I can’t say for sure, but from all the research before going with 4:30s, I Learned that people who were considerably heavier went with 4:56s and were happy, if you were on the lighter side, then 4:30s is the way to go, unless you believed stock was under geared to begin with, then you will feel the same about the 4:30s, which means you will probably feel better with 4:56s.

More powa!!!!! Especially nice if you wheel hard and frequent, especially if you do more slow speed rock crawling stuff.

Does it make the speedo wrong and or 70mph really high rpm?

Speedo is off of wheel speed sensors, so gearing doesn’t effect it, only tire size. So with 33’s I believe the speedo is off by about 7% and 70mph rpms should be around 2700 rpm if I remember correctly, but someone else with this setup can confirm. I jumped up to 35’s so I don’t remember exactly where it was when I was on 33’s.

And to answer your previous question, a smaller pulley is nice and upgraded fuel pump highly recommended.
