    For the audio experts:
I followed sub & amp install. This guy has done quite a few write ups on the same car for various upgrades.
People who have done this upgrade have all commented how great it is.

For me some songs have too much bass, some sound decent, and some sound tinny.
I do need to download the tuning freq/song and tune it still but I did mess with the dials on teh amp as well as the adjustments on the head unit.

He suggests stuffing the sub box with poly fill to 'control back waves & tighten lower frequencies'.
Doesn't a sub box need room?

Still need to button up a few things but it's mostly done. Will eventually replace the foam with sound deadener. Then upgrade the front 5 speakers.

Also got the bracket for the ValentinOne installed as well as hardwired. Now I can speed without concern ;)

Some of my hiking friends managed to crack their oil pan on FR300 today. I went to find the :itllbuffout: emoji on FB but sadly not there

Well that sucks. And seriously, the emojis on here are the best. They need to make them available for regular texting and other media platforms.

The EQ on our cars is 12 kinds of fucky, I have the same symptoms with my Si but it seems like there is also some kind of dynamic witchcraft going on and I don't like it. I try to adjust the bass and it seems like you get to a point in the head unit where your options are "mud" or "tinny".

Is yours the "premium 10 speakers" kind or do you have something else? Depending on the output of the stock amp I may try just replacing the sub, because my freaking utility package Tacoma with 4 poverty speakers bumps WAY harder on the bass.

Anyways to your question about sub boxes... The way I understand it a sub box needs room (a specific amount of it) if it is ported, but not if it is sealed. Sealed boxes are more "accurate" for bass production (and you should put some foam in there and/or sound deadener) while ported boxes have more boom.

Yes mine is the 10 speaker system. Going to do front tweeters, door's, and dash speaker next along with sound deadener in the doors.

This sub box is sealed so I guess I am good.
