I have a 2016 SR5 that did not come with a tow package from Toyota. The previous owner put a hitch and 4 prong trailer plug on it. I was wondering if my truck had a plug for the brake controller from the factory or not. Where would it be located if it did.

go rhino steps, Tekonsha P3 brake controller, Weathertech floor mats, Leer shell, vent visors, Wet Okole seat covers, console vault, radio knobs,
Look in towing section under “Who has the Tekonsha p3 brake controller installed”? It will show where to look behind the plastic cover and behind the group of wires.

    None as of yet
A 4 pin connector is just lights. You need a 7 pin for electric brakes.

Actually it is more likely to be there than not. They use the same harness for all trims AFAIK.

Stupid question but why does Toyota not have an integrated brake control module available? The Tekonsha p3 brake controller sounds wonderfull but why is there not one available from Toyota that fits in with the dash?

    Am I missing something? Thanks!

Yes, the Board meeting where they agreed on costs and integration, brand placement, perks, etc.
