Looks great and with a white vehicle the light reflection adds even more throw. Question for you, does your proximity sensor only work if vehicle is locked? Mine does and been trying to find the settings for it if there is one. Thanks

Correct I was playing with that yesterday and I was approaching the truck when it wasn't locked in the proximity light did not turn on unless it was locked already. But if it's unlocked and as long as you open the door then the light comes on. This is how it functions from the factory.

Yea, just wish there was a setting so it came on when not locked but we can always just hit the unlock button too. Thanks

Can someone post a video of the usefulness of the light when the door is opening. I’m assuming you will get a shadow as the door opens but will the light be bright enough to still illuminate the area as the door swings out.

    #1167 there is a video

It’s best shot I’ve seen so far that shows light with door open. It’s a quick clip of it.

I can get a pic of the V1's with the door open when it gets dark. I'm sure there is a shadow but enough lighting to still illuminate under the door.

Question. Doesn’t the dome circuit have 12v constant? I think that’s what I’ve read. So is your switch just a ground to keep the puddle lights on? Or did you just wire the switch to give the lights 12v?

It's not a 12volt constant. I wired in a separate switch along with an add a fuse into a 12 volt accessory line. You could always put it into a 12 volt constant but I didn't want to accidently leave it on. My setup is also wired into DSIMs module so that it can handle heavier loads like rock lights etcetera in the same circuit. I spoke with Meso about his wiring for his rock lights and there is no module needed as his is for the lighter load of the rock lights only. I do like his setup though because there's no tapping into wires and overall a cleaner install.

Not finding anything online for a 4 pin JST splitter that is 1 female to 2 male. I am planning on running both the puddle lights and the DSIM at some point.

Got a link where one could buy a splitter for a fair price?

Yeah they are not that easy to find as I thought. @MESO and I are working out a solution.

NO clue lol. I just said " a couple hundred"
Like my other mods, there will be multiple batches of these. It just takes time to test, box, and get everything together. So if someone misses out on the first release, don't get down:)

My thoughts exactly. As much as I wanted to minimize glare/reflection, there's just no way around it due to the light dispersion angle of the LEDS. In this case, it actually benefits on a white vehicle.
I'll try and get one. There is definitely a shadow cast(I can't break the rules of physics lol) but there is enough light output that it spills over and under the door when open.
Yes. This ties off the dome circuit which has +12V constant all the time and then uses a PWM ground signal to fade on/off. So technically if you wanted to use a switch for a master override to turn the puddle on at any time, you would tie into the Ground signal(with diode) and ground the puddle light.
I will be working on a solution for easier integration with his kit. The primary goal was to get a full plug and play puddle light kit which is what I achieved. Other add-ons was secondary.
