Disassembled the truck last weekend to do some wiring, sound deadener, insulation and replace the factory speakers and tweeters per the $250 upgrade forum. Turned out great. 256EE205-697D-48CA-A6F7-A0CC940DF678.jpg 6B7854F4-F0B6-4A85-A6C4-5B685DF79BED.jpg5852975E-EA24-4D53-A127-BD1B69F7BF8F.jpg41000403-E4B5-4E57-9734-4771A50D5B4C.jpg7A3212C5-7FE4-477D-AAAD-452ACBE98A93.jpgDFAD6016-C15E-4CB1-B65A-66895230FAD7.jpgFA43DE10-5ED4-4FEC-B783-D1B15689FDCE.jpg87A6C69E-02F1-427C-9D78-85F0776AC917.jpg9FF39D7E-D5D7-4ABA-B65F-1680A1BBB6C9.jpg1E6A870F-3405-4105-9082-703B002E559D.jpgBEBCCF27-3D28-4698-9BDC-C2268767EE54.jpg0E59168F-462D-4409-9967-141B7C930291.jpgE4747CF2-71BF-4933-A0CB-31AC9DFA1544.jpgC58E23F7-2697-4F3C-8D82-018A0AD8C2BA.jpg

Some lock washers, sheet metal screws and a 1/2" by 4' by 8' sheet of baltic birch plywood. 1/4-20 by 5/8" countersunk bolts to fasten the plywood to the aluminum. bedliner and carpet and carpet adhesive for the next step with a staple gun.
We cut the aluminum in (2) 28" pieces using the remaining 19 15/16" pieces and built a rectangle with the brackets. The rectangle is roughly 22" by 28". I'll dig up dimensions on the wood.

A few weeks ago, I finished carpeting and adding lights to my kitchen cupboard for the side of the habitat. Turned out pretty well I must admit for my first time carpeting something.

And lastly, got the rear lights working in tandem off of the backup lights or with a switch in the rear with the help of a diode. 2C2B5E6A-6186-4DA0-8C2F-8A2FC2191549.jpg731C65C2-37A0-4AEC-B186-F6F535875FD4.jpg

I cant wait to full deploy the habitat, awning, and annex at RRG and get some pics of it. Might have to do a walk around video and get a drone shot or two.

Most of my recent modifications have been to improve comfort, convenience and ease of camping.

the tailgate vinyl is the best thing to do. 3M knifeless tape is the best investment.

Awesome build dude, just went through every page!

I just bought a 2019 TRD Off-road Tacoma myself, and just put in my AT Habitat order.

I had a question related to the bed stiffeners. I heard those are recommended by Adventure Trailers for the Habitat, is that your understanding to?

I would recommend them to improve the durability of the bed. The bed itself flexes a bunch and it has been known to crack overtime, this is worsened with a topper. The bed stiffeners prevent this.

Added a new hatch to the passenger side Another Tern Overland hatch 300 by 300 this time to store dry clothes during showers, keep TP handy for the bathroom, and to provide access to the back corner area of the habitat 0657B8C4-3D92-478B-86D0-3F5AC50C47FE.jpg 773259DC-0AE7-40A0-9F67-70354057FAA7.jpg 40D81722-FDBA-4A55-85EF-5AEE6D716195.jpg 05E798BC-9A31-4F99-8591-541092437161.jpg

Also finally remembered to take a pic of the full panel I use on the habitat.

Also got in a Roam adventure case 95L and mounted it to the Prinsu Rack.

Looks awesome! I love all your work! My Habitat is being built and AT recommended the Equipt K9 rack with the Habitat, but I'm seeing a lot of people running the Prinsu rack. I really want to put a lightbar up there too which seems like the Prinsu would be easier to do with.

    Thoughts?

Thanks, Ive had a lot of fun with this build. Both are good racks, prinsu is less expensive and easy to do on your own. Just need some torx bits and silicone and the punch below to cut the weather stripping. The equipo rack mounts a light bar below, the prinsu rack has a fairing on front to reduce wind noise. To each their own, I think the prinsu is solid and fairly customizable.

Unfortunately the Fort has seen some setbacks.
I’m alright, basically unharmed, and nobody was hurt.
I was driving home late one night last week in the rain and hadn’t slept well the night before. I either fell asleep or drove off the road, but the truck ended up in a tree next to a creek and I woke up. I’m still dealing with the insurance company. I can rebuild, happy to be alive and the truck definitely saved my Life.

Drilled through the bottom. You can seal with some silicone.
