I liked them back in the 90's when I was in high school, but they were just a nice car, not a beast like their contemporary Porsche 911 Turbo or McLaren F1 which I know was in a different price bracket, but those were two examples of that era which were pinnacle cars. Even newer reviews comparing the old Supra to the new one say that the chassis is way more flexy in the old one so it's clear it's not really meant to be a dedicated track or race car. I appreciate how people like to tune the engine to big horsepower but I am not really a drag slicks / radials in back kind of guy - I'd prefer a well balanced vehicle like the other two I mentioned. I thought this guy was interesting that he had two Toyota's that were really unusual - kind of a different preference for people with as much money as he seems to have haha.

The 4Runners were built better to begin with. I used to strip a lot of parts from those SUV's and it was damn near evident in a lot of the parts. All the interior trim had sound deadening, more electrical systems, better seats and door panels, etc etc etc.

My dads truck is a 2008 Trd Off road, which was one of the higher trim levels, if not the highest. No power seats there. Kind of surprising.

    Not so good history -

Ford 4x4 F-150s Are Again Recalled Over Shifting Issue - 1.26 Million

Ford recalls 2 million 4x4 F-150 trucks because of fire risk

Thousands of New Ford 4x4 F-150 Trucks Could Roll Even When Parked

Probably safer using this as a daily ---

I liked the rental 4runner a little better than the rental Taco. But it was a pretty high trim level, and the 4.0 never disapoints. Idk, they both have their highs and lows. One thing is for sure, the 2019 taco is way ahead of the 2019 T4R when it comes to tech. You can tell the T4R hasnt been updated in years.
