I picked up this cool water container from a government auction. I've seen a lot of Scepter type containers. But I’ve never seen one with these quick connect fitting on top. Anyone have any details about how these are used by the military?

It's a quick disconnect fitting and two pickups. I'm assuming it's for inline pumping so maybe used by cooks, shower/laundry techs or a special field sanitation setup so maybe also medical. One line from the water source and the can is used as a reservoir while the other line is used as the feed to whatever needs the water.

Edit: the chlorine painted on it lends to the purification reservoir aspect of it's use.

I bet they pressurized it for spraying. I see the word chlorine on the side. Maybe used to sanitize something, just a guess.

The fittings are straight through with no valve. You could pressurize it with them but I think usually you’d want the valve inside the quick connect.

Also the fittings are huge. Much larger than normal 1/4” air couplings.

Those are the non-pressurized fittings I've seen on small things. It's a MilSpec QD attachment

Haha yea. Maybe. I think it’d be hard to assemble this for $168 myself using the same parts. Those fittings alone are like $75.
