Why would we keep it on the dl? It's all over the news.

Sad, my heart goes out to all involved.

    Very sad to hear.

Is this the first time something like this has happened at these kinds of races? Whenever I see videos Baja style races, I always feel so unsafe for the people watching, as there's often no kind of barrier to protect them while the vehicles are traveling at high speed.

It is sad for the families but you have to be fliping stupid to stand that close to the dirt track where the trucks are jumping and have next to no visability.

Oh..unreliable news sources just said he fleed the scene after the accident. This is why I don't trust media..you never get the full story, or it is somehow twisted or turned.

Just a bunch of old crap
It is sad, but when you camp out right on the edge of the track and have no barriers, what do you expect will eventually happen?

WTF.....throw rocks, did this happen in mexico or in the US? They are basically doing the same thing the guy did with his car. Except the racer didn't do it on purpose, and they are.

It's very sad what happened and I give my regards to the families for everyone who passed, or got hurt.
But the fact is, is this could have happened to anyone of us, anyone of us who had a race truck, and was racing in that race.

I'm not sure about the situation because I was not there, but judging from the idiots who stand very close to these trucks going by in the Baja races, they should have known better if this was the case.
But I was not there, so maybe they were far enough away?
Could have been bad race course set up?
    Just a freak accident?
    It is racing, sh!t happens.

We just don't know. I would like to reserve judgment on this guy and anyone else in-till the investigation is done.
The CHP MAIT team does a very good job at investigating crashes, they do it all the time.
