It makes me really sad the new one has a bmw motor...

It’s crazy, bmw is great until 36,000 miles then everything shits the bed.

The old Supra Turbos with low mileage are selling upwards of $100k!

The great thing about the old Supras is you can do almost anything with them, check out this 1800HP monster

When I graduated college in 2007 a good Supra Turbo was 15-25k, a beautiful example was maybe 30k with the NA models much cheaper. I didn’t have a place to park one in the winter so I bought an STi.

When I sold the STi in 2016 I looked into Supras and could not find any MkIV under 23k that wasn’t actively on fire.

I am still mad I missed my window.

Is an MT in the rumor mill? The consensus is that more powerful tune and upgrades are heading to the supra in like 3 or 4 model years. I'm trying real hard not to get one until Toyota does their standard refresh at the earliest. Fingers crossed for a Targa top as well.

My buddy had a 135. Was great until it needed $7500 in repairs the year he had it

I made sure to remind him, that would have paid for half my problem free lexus I had way more miles on

rumor mill, as i remember, yes. but i can't remember where i've seen it. it was for sure more than one place i read it with the writer making the typical assumptions that MT's typically come later nowadays. so, i'm taking it with a grain of salt, but with the strong enthusiast history stretching back to the 80's with this model, i'm also kind of expecting it. but what do i know? :burp:

I recall reading something like that too, think they said if the car sells well and there are enough people asking they could add a MT.

that's the one i saw exactly. which i thought was weird that Toyota would actually say "if". that's where the grain of salt came from.

I know it has been brought up before but didn’t want to dig through 500+ pages. For those with 3rd gens, does your engine/transmission move around like crazy, especially over potholes or washboard? I have almost 30k miles and it seems like the movement is getting a bit excessive, like to the point where I feel that it’s affecting ride quality and suspension performance. I know there are beefier mounts for the second gen but what’s everybody doing to remedy this? Is it worth replacing the stock mounts with oem replacements? Could my mounts really be worn out at 30k?

My steering rack bushings were worn out at less than 30K mark and I had to bring it for warranty work, where they replaced the whole assembly. To answer your question, I would say it is most likely they are worn out.

Is this a common thing? I have aftermarket suspension on my truck, hope they don’t deny work because of it. Don’t really want to have to replace parts like that every 30k. It is a truck after all and I don’t drive it that hard... Going to take it in for 30k service soon so I guess I’ll have them look at steering rack bushings as well.

They could try to deny it, but in my case I was able to prove that my steering rack bushings were not affected by aftermarket suspension I had.

It’s a lottery with this new trucks, so I can’t say that all of them have issues, but definitely there is a problem from what I see here often.

my suspension is still all original going 22yrs and 2wks now, it still feels firm over bumps like it pretty much always has, not even sure how long Toyota parts last anymore lol or what to look for or expect when I am needing new suspension parts... can i stretch it out to 40yrs
I blame the 'rough' ride on these cotDamn poorly maintained roads around here,
even the Interstate80 through middle of town is feeling unsafe in parts at the posted speed limit of 65

sure would be nice if the Dealer loaned me out that $48k pro in the showroom, let me test it out for comparison in these particular spots!
