Still trying to find a muffler that’s not too quiet but doesn’t sound like an angry weed eater. Suggestions?

The TRD exhaust is not overly aggressive but it's throatier than stock.

Friend at camp has an S10 w/4.3 V-6. He installed a Welded Thrush muffler, and deleted the cat. Best sounding V-6 Ive ever heard. Thought he finally got around to swapping in a V-8 that he had been talking about. Wish a my Tacoma could sound that good.

Cheap, sounds a little louder than stock, minimum drone in cab, and most auto stores have them.
Walker SS Quiet Flow muffler - bolts right in option with tail pipe and can get muffler to cat section too. Tail pipe is cheap bend with the ripples. Painted mine black so don't see much of it anyway and uses stock mounts. At full throttle sounds good. Just 1 option for you.

My son put an AeroTurbine SS muffler on his 3.7L Gen3 Taco. Sounds pretty tough when you're into it, but isn't going to totally annoy our neighborhood every time he goes to work or comes home. Drone is minimal at highway speeds too. I am proud of all of the research he did before deciding on this one after seeing the results. It was NOT plug and play though... We took it to a buddy's local shop to get it put into place with proper fit, placement, and support!!

Flowmaster delta 50. Sounds like the truck should sound off the factory line.

The 4.3 is a v8 with the back 2 cylinders lopped off. Very different than a Tacoma (and most other) v6s

Welcome to the site. Sound is subjective and I know the youtube videos does not sound as good as it does in person. All depends on what you're looking for.

I've tried pretty much every known muffler and exhaust system over the years on three different model year V6 tacomas I've owned and after the Borla S Cat back system there really is no comparison when it comes to the quality of sound. Quiet and subdued under 3,500 rpm but step on the pedal aggressively beyond that it comes alive. Oh and absolutely NO cab drone at any RPM or speed (can't stand cab drone). Throw on a cold air intake and together they make sweet music. Just my 2c

On my 02 Pre Runner DC 2.7 supercharged 4cyl I'm running a Magnaflow muffler and a Doug Thorley Shorty header . People always comment on how my exh note sounds like a V6

I have a 24” Magnaflow and I love it. Quiet at low rpm’s but wakes up and screams at 2500+ rpm
