So you went and got a hernia operation?! Got a long story about my first one. Out to sea on a ship underway, started as a local, ugh. Good luck in your recovery and take it easy. And good luck fishing though if your getting the rain there we got here not really good right now.

Thursday had the same thoughts about a turkey in the yard. But no beard.

    turkey.jpg

Spent a couple hours today searching for a cabin to rent off the Gunflint Trail on the North Shore of Lake Superior. In October for grouse season. 11 days almost a thousand dollars is the cheapest although split in half with a friend not so bad.

I have a wall tent, wood stove, and enough camping equipment to fill my garage. Screw it I am older and wiser now. Hot water, indoor plumbing, shower, sit down indoor shitter, stove, worth every damn penny. I'm with you.

Thems some snazzy waders, Orvis or Simms? :p

    Evening Everyone !!!!! :hattip:

Friday wasn't a good day for me , everything was going well until I checked for my mail and found a letter from the VA . It was from Veterans Association Disability ratings Benefits dept and have been waiting for this letter now for a few weeks

Opened the letter thinking everything is good was not good !!!! . They mention my disability exam I had last month showed slight improvement in knee flexion . Do to this they're lowering my service connected disability rating from 80% combined down to 40% combined . What's strange is the VA Ortho Surgeon I've been seeing has mentioned to me that I need surgery to repair a torn MCL and do a revision surgery on my knee replacement

Can't believe I'm losing half my disability over knee flexion .Normal knee flexion is 135° and all I can bend is 90° , that's still a reduction of 45° . Now I've got to go back to the County VA office here in town and file more paperwork stating from the surgeon my knee is needing more surgery to correct the problem

Well, I'm thinking work is going to kinda suck this week (and next week). I was thinking the holiday was the weekend after this one coming. WRONG! It's this coming weekend. So I'll be getting stuff ready for that, should be set up by Wednesday afternoon, ops brief Thursday, run the op Thursday afternoon thru Monday, then work all next week till COB Thursday. So I get to run 2 weeks straight but all weekend is OT with double OT on Monday so there is a consolation prize...just have to deal with shit flinging monkeys all weekend.

Shit flinging monkeys? Many, many people have been falling into that catagory lately. That status is synonymous with "fuckin idiot". I'm sure we'll have many of those also. This is our biggest holiday of the year. Generally I don't mind working with the public but this crowd coming up will never cease to amaze or provide endless hours of entertainment. We'll probably have at least 3 alcohol involved incidences and more than likely one of those will be a domestic. When LE hauls him to jail, she'll bail him out the next morning...never fails. Another one of those incidents will involve someone who thinks they are entitled to act like an ass because they are either law enforcement or some kind of fire fighter, are a former cop or firefighter or they say they are one or the other and aren't. Nor does it matter. They don't have any more entitlements than anyone else. Very few, if anyone, this coming weekend will be any of our regular recreators.
