Got a decent Tarpon down in the keys earlier this week. Estimated about 100 pounds, 6 feet.

Our guide was a complete asshole, but the fish was cool. If you're gonna be a guide, being able to give basic instructions and using your words are important skills. God I hated that guy so much.

Took about 20 minutes to fight it, was totally worth it.

I'm getting dangerously close to purchasing a bed rack. Thinking kb voodoo/max modular 18". Anyone have experience with them? Opinions on aluminium vs. steel? $150 and 26lbs difference worth it? Thoughts on height, pros and cons, would be appreciated as well.

KB Voodoo has well-documented powdercoating issues which leads to rust, so I'd go aluminum.

 

Def get aluminum. Their powdercoat sucks. Or don't get them at all. Lol their are similar racks of better quality

 

I'm going up to AOAA for the 2019 Riot for Wyatt.

I'm thinking about going to that as well. I'm pretty new to offroading though and my truck is armorless so i'd be sticking to some of the easier trails

 

There are plenty of choices for quality bed racks, sort of just depends on your personal preference on how they all look. CBI, BAMF, BruteForce Fab, to name a few.

 

I'm doing a 3 night trip up to assateague. I'm excited as I've never been.
