yes, see what happens and then take the next steps to protect it
I might not feel this way if my truck did not drive and handle more or less Exactly like the day I drove it home and off to work on the road with it 22yrs ago this month
It was a finely built truck that has been properly maintained, but is definitely showing some signs of age (squeaky door, A/C issue), but not nearly as bad of age as my '96 Corolla (the to-store-and-back heavy wear and tear car) that Corolla still starts, runs and heats up good in the winter (but not pretty to look at)

alright here is a quandary that i am curious about
those of you currently dealing with this frame issue, are you also having corrosion popping up on the panels, door, rockers, fenders, tailgate?
there are a good amount of trucks in my area, mainly of the detroit flavor, that this is happening when they are barely 10yrs old, but the worse of them are older

There's a new frame at the dealer where my frame is gonna be done. The frame has a sticker on it with the last 5 numbers of my vin 83884. Is it my frame? I think it is :)

i do not know much about the ins and outs of this whole issue (still researching)

are you having them hot dip galvanize that new frame before the swap?
so far my research is leaning towards that being the ONLY certain way to keep this from happening again until the trucks wheels literally fall off
(many 100s of thousands of miles later :))
if they have not redesigned these new frames to chemically resist corrosive elements who is to say the same unfortunate thing will not be happening 10 or so years from what is going on in the present? I am seeing the same exact thing is happening today from a few (not all) 1st gen frames replaced almost 10yrs ago, its a truely bad situation
while you see a chance, Take It!

I’ve got my new frame on order from the dealer, is there’s anything else worth replacing other than suspension when they take apart the truck that isn’t covered with the warranty ?

I’m also having an issue with my AC. My AC blows cool but not cold, like a fan with no cooling. Is that a coolant issue or would that be more likely an AC compressor ?

The AC may just need a charge. It's my understanding they recharge it after the frame replacement is done. May not cost you anything.

My ac didn't work before and it works now after the swap. Just needed a recharge. No cost to me.

A picture paints a thousand years. Mine showed delay initially and then perforated in the delaminated areas. I now have a new frame. If you suspect anything get in there and really look and TAKE PICTURES. They were going to refuse me until I went into the service manager with my phone and showed him my pics. He immediately walked back to the service area with me. I showed him. He showed corporate. He had corporate approval in under 5 minutes.

So they won’t cover that because your out of the time period?

If that’s the case my question would be, with a hole that big, why did you wait so long to take it in?

The truck was super cheap and I needed something just to get around in temporarily. I saw that I thought it was still covered by the frame recall til the 21st of may so I didnt think much of it.

Oh, well Perhaps if you were the original owner or had the vehicle for some time they would of accepted the case. A lot of people have been trying to pick up rotted ones in hopes to get a frame swap and then flip the truck afterwards.

From my understanding Toyota still accepts some frames even if they are past their date. That’s what a Toyota service manager told me. How bad is your frame ? You can appeal the decision, call corporate, or take to another dealer and apply for another claim

I think if you’re willing to make enough noise they’ll replace it, the regional Toyota denied your frame so I’d call corporate and the frame warranty hotline and be very upset about them denying an unsafe frame and that it’s a liability. People have done this before with expired frames and it works
