Can’t quite make it out?

 

Fucking thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one...

Yea, the last season could have been better... but it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be. I enjoyed it. The ending was mostly satisfying. Its still one of my favorite shows of all time.

I think that was intentionally left up to the viewers to decide for themselves. I personally believed that Jon felt the most at home when he was up with the wildlings and Ygrette and he decided to head on north to be with them.

 

Yeah tons of people just hopping on the hate bandwagon. I kind of hoped that Jon and Dany would hop on Drogon and take off somewhere and leave behind the shit hole that is Kings Landing/Westeros. She hadn't been that happy when they were talking since the beginning it seemed, but then she had to continue talking and say no one else would get to decide what was right.

 

I thought the ending was perfect, so shoot me. The object of any story written for television is to make money, not make viewers happy. All of the principle characters are still alive, so now, get this, they can make movies. Paydays just got exponentially HUGE for all involved. If you were disappointed by the ending, well, just wait! There's more! Get ready to pay to see each episode, instead of each "season".

 

Oh don't get me wrong, I thought the finale was good. Just spitballing alternate endings in my mind

 

So many people seeing it this way. Im personally frustrated by the end.

Has anyone considered that Bran "had to tell Jon" about his past to upset any chance of Dany and Jon ruling. To me Bran saw what he needed to "come all this way" to be king. He used people around him to achieve that end, its hollow and empty feeling because it wasn't even hinted at in his story line. It wasn't written to support that for the first 5-6 seasons, or even 7 really. It felt like the writers may have intended to come across the way you see it in season 8, but for some like myself it came across as Bran was the bad guy in the end that used everyone in the last season to be king. I agree with you on Jon's feelings but for me even Bran telling him he is where he belongs is a shit thing to do, considering he planned that. Without Bran, Jon might have found love or been a noble king. Bah. Without looking at them as being pawns, Jon needing to know he was a Targaryen was pointless as it didn't make a difference in the end and was pointless. Hard for me to see it as anything else, unless I accept that D+D had no idea what to write, which is still on the table.

Just really let down with the character arcs pretty much all around. Disappointed.

 

Well hopefully the books can come out now that the show is over and we get the real ending (which is probably the same way but with some minor differences)
