Looks like you made a good choice. If for some reason the actuators fail, are you able to put it up manually?

    When's your first trip?

Riggedized Autana 3 and most panels were soaked through by morning. I’m thinking it didn’t get a weather treatment or something because if this is what it did last night, i don’t even want to know what it would do in a real storm.

If it weren’t for the moisture guard underneath, my mattress would be soaked.

My cvt said to open it up before first use and soak it down with a water hose and let it completely dry. Supposed to help seal it. I'm not sure if tepui is the same way.

Damn. That would really piss me off after spending all that money. I’m trying to decide whether or not to pick up a ruggedized Kukenam through REI during the anniversary sale this week.

I’ll actually be swapping for that now that I have the opportunity. The Annex is super overrated unless you have a specific need for it.

Is the FSR your first RTT or have you had a CVT/Tepui or other in the past?

I had a standard FSR medium tent, then FSR M49 softshell, then Roofnest hardshell, and now back to FSR automatic M49 :D

    I love it!

@RUSSELLTACO hates me when I ask if he wants to race opening/closing the tent though.. :anonymous:
    :bored:

I guess my excitement is king of annoying haha.

I'm still leaning toward CVT for my hardshell, but you've piqued my interest with the FSR. Looking forward to a long-term report.

I had the medium and the soft m49 for a year each. I definitely love the quality, compared to the Roofnest, which is why i came back.

I can also get you 10% off FSR if you're interested.

@Blackout14 has a hard shell CVT.

If I went down the straight up hard shell route again, I would try one from Amazon or Simple Outdoors. I have no issues with CVT, and have seen many in person, and I hear the customer service is awesome.

Just for the hard shell route, IMO, id rather spend 1700-1800 on a non branded version. The Roofnest is cool and ive never seen another brand with a 100lb roof rack on top of the hard shell, but I didn't like the mattress cover and the ladder. Also, lots of things were riveted. It just didnt feel strong to me, especially for 2600+

That’s frustrating....there are things about the FSR that are appealing to me but customer service is a huge deal if you run into a problem.

    Argh.....unlike.

REI has their annual sale on right now so I’m looking at a Tepui. REI has always taken care of things if I’ve had any issues so strongly considering them solely for that reason.

You can see above with the leaking issue with my Tepui but this is exactly why I bought from REI. I'll be heading over tonight after work to return this one and ordering its replacement. I've spent thousands there over the years and they've never done me dirty when it comes to returns.

Then again, I've never tried to return a $2.5k item so we'll see haha.

    Yeah.
Ordered my second CVT, went Summit series this time. Old one served me well for 6 years and still has life left, so I will look to sell it locally after I do some minor repairs and a good cleaning. They came out with the ruggedized ones not long after I bought this one, been eyeing them ever since.
