It really depends on how much weight you think you'll be carrying day to day and how much maximum weight you plan on carrying on occasion. If its wildly all over the place, might want to look into a normal set of lifted leaf springs and also some airbags to help deal with heavy loads when they come up. If you think it'll just be light to medium loads all the time then I'd look into maybe Dakars+AAL or the Expos...or if you have the $ an even better option would be to call Alcan and tell them exactly what you want and have them build you a custom leaf pack. Probably looking at around $800 for that though, but everyone I've heard that's done it has said it's the best thing they've spent that much money on.

I'm running the Icon 2.0s with remote reserviors for rear shocks, they're meant to accommodate 0 - 3" lift and work really well. Had them on for over a year and some hard miles, no issues.

With new Dakar packs and Icon resi's, my 97 rode like it had no suspension in the rear at first. SOLID.
I pulled the overload leaf and the full length "loose" leaf out of the Dakar pack. The Icon shocks and the reduced spring pack ride like butter now. I have the Fox 2.5 resi's up front and yes they are great!
For weight reference, I've got a tube bumper, soft topper, 25 lbs tool bag, and ARB fridge in the back. Stock size spare underneath too.

    SF.

Been meaning to transfer one of my DTA rifles to a friend of mine. He still owes me cash but I trust him. Figured I'd make one 3hr trip to him vs him having to do it twice for the transfer and again for the pick up.

Holy Moly. I hope my truck being a double cab negates some of this!

    Lol I know right?

I'm at work and I decided to park in the back of the building instead of the front; the rear end is just staring at me outside my window.

I'll check to see that my shackles aren't too tight and binding anything; will do that by putting weight on and off the truck to see if the shackle angle changes. From there I'll drive around with some weight for a week.

@Kwikvette Do you happen to know the part numbers for the rear shocks? I just got my Fox 2.0 extended travel (0-3") from Wheelers, curious if they are the same part #s. Going to run them with the Dakar pack w/ ext rear brake line and BAMF BPV. ( Part number for my rear Fox shocks are FRS 985-24-004-W / FRS 985-24-083-W )

I went with Fox 985-24-004 on both sides.

I got off the phone with Fox and they said they almost always recommend the universal shocks versus those that directly replace the OEM shocks. By the way, don't forget to buy 3/4" hourglass bushings all around since they come with smaller one's from the factory.

Damping rates are the same between the 2 of them so he suggested I check with OME about removing a leaf or two. He also suggested that I check to make sure my shackles are gorilla tight since the polyurethane bushings in the shackles can prevent needed flex with/without weight.

Good call on the hourglass bushings.. I just checked with Wheelers, the -W in their P/N indicates that 3/4 Hourglass bushings are included

Could be the double cab and that bit of weight that levels it out. I am going to be installing my Dakar leaf pack on my DCSB soon, hoping to have a similar result.

    Interesting.

I'd like to see a current side view similar to the first picture right after installation.

I have a tube bumper in the back which I assume would weigh a good bit more than the stock bumper did.

My front has a conservative 2" lift up front so I know I'll always have some sort of rake.
