What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Not as well as I would have liked, but it isn't that bad. I am going to have to redo it though. I rushed it and made some mistakes.

 

I installed hid in headlights and led in fog.

 

Great looking truck! Was wondering what the Honey Badger would look like with that light setup! Shopping bumpers now, might be the way I go.

 

Care to share more details regarding the DIY roof rack?

 

I used a fabric marker with a fine point tip that wasn’t so fine lol. It took multiple times cause it wicked into the stitching and I may take it off to do another coat if you will but it’s definitely better than the red which would stand out like a sore thumb on my truck

It looks like it in the pic, but I didn't. I think I'm going to order one of those decals the same color of the truck.

 

I suggest staying away from ADD products (honey badger etc). I've talked to two others who have had fitment problems and the company doesn't want to deal with any of it. They'll just tell you your truck is off, not the bumper, then won't answer you anymore. I've also been told the winch is almost impossible to get on. I'm not looking forward to installing mine. I wouldn't trust this bumper to winch without reinforcement brackets like this.

I'm so loving the 4runner......

 

You can already see the glare from the fogs in this picture lol.. RIP to anyone in front of you when you have those on. I'd recommend some drop in LED replacement fog lights - I run the morimoto xb-led fogs and they have a great cutoff that won't result in major glare for oncoming traffic.

 

that is good to know, I will stay away from ADD. I will head back towards Victory 4x4.

Haven't made any changes in a while, but there will definitely be more.

 

Installed my door flags.

 

Nothing officially done yet, but started making cardboard templates of the backseat area. Gonna try to make a collapsible platform to fill in the leg area so my dogs have the entire back row to roam, and I don't have to worry about them falling down. Might try to get something lasercut from thin aluminum at work, try to make it fold compact like a suitcase size or something. Yes, I'm over-engineering the shiznat out of it.

Also tossing around idea of debadging the truck completely.

Exactly how I felt the first few weeks I had my 4runner!
But then the reality set in.
The Tacoma double cab had better interior storage space, with the under the seat and behind the seat cubby's. And the fact that I really needed a truck.
Both vehicle cold carry 5 passengers no problem. But the Back storage is limiting on the 4runner.
For myself there was no aspect that the 4ruuner had that the Tacoma didn't do better.
If you never have to haul anything then the 4runner is a great SUV.
