@JustDSM, I'm sure I'm not the first to comment on mileage improvements. But, wow! Did a weekend offroad excursion and I was amazed. I actually thought the tank float got stuck while wheeling. On the highway I got almost 90 miles on a quarter tank. With e-load 285's, 4" lift, (areo dynamical challenge) and a mountain pass, 75 mph. I was getting almost 20 mpg?!? Awesome!

Not to mention while doing some hard core offroad driving it still ran like a champ. I actually cleared a hill on one attempt that a Polaris buggy made on his second. Rad tuning skills man!

So I jsut wanted to give @Hacktacular and @JustDSM a big shout out. @Hacktacular pointed me in the direction of upgrading my supercharged taco while @JustDSM tuned this beauty fast and easy. Justin walked me through the whole process and simply broke it down for noobs like me to understand.

Just upgrading the pulley from a 3" to 2.8" and tuned, it feels like a whole new truck! I still want to play with the HPT to see if I can do other things to my truck. But for the guys that aren't sure, I say do it!

4 cylinder trucks came with 4.10s if you can find a wrecked 4cyl, 4x4, you could pull the diffs and use those to regear. I found a front diff out of a wrecked 4cyl and regeared my 4wd with it. Had the rear 4.10s from my 4 banger. Good option to regear on a budget

I've considered going that route but I was also wanting lockers front and rear as well so I'm less likely to get stuck at the Whataburger drive-thru. So since I'll have to open them up, might as well re-gear the existing ones.

It's an amazing set up but I'm turning ponies that need a more solid dual tire bite on the pavement.

The way I see it its only ~2k more to get the d60 w/locker and regear then it would be on the stock rear adding gears and a locker

does it get more solid than completely locked? Do they even make a trutrac that fits to replace the elocker diff?

I used my a-trac this weekend. I would NEVER do a mod to delete it. That is a priceless opportunity when your in a major offroad thing. I would have totalled my truck without it yesterday.

I think the elocker doesnt do much for you on the street is the thing. You don’t want to be driving on pavement with it locked because it will make the diff very unhappy when trying to turn.

I'm not sure. E locker is fucking amazing off road. Trutrac isnt as good but still great. Better as 99% of my driving is street dominance. But with lower gears this truck would be better. It dominates offroad .doest do justice but its known as the hill of doom. I made it down and up. 4 low, atrac, locker on 3k rpm, and made it. Polaris side by side took two tries. Me just one.
