    timmy the toolman put this link in his repair video on YT. he said he paid $70 at the dealer before he found this kit on ebay. he said this kit WILL work. Any thoughts? ive never purchased parts from Ebay.

    Can crawl under it too and peek at the bushings to see how the look...if they're really bad it should be pretty obvious.

    I did the tape method and that shit was bouncing all over the place. My self tappers ended up stripping and falling out....so now I need to rivet that fucker in

    Glad I went with the rivets lol. I think those that use tape and tappers probably don't bounce their trucks around a lot.

    I'm wondering if that's why mine does the same thing, my tie rods (should be) good according to the tech that did my last alignment and my steering rack bushings look fine.
    When I move my wheel side to side off the ground, it moves both of them on both sides as well as the steering wheel a little bit.

    Do you know what the part in the steering column is called?

    Oh thanks for that tip. I've never done tie rods before.
    Safety pin....Not familiar with this part. I haven't noticed play in the steering wheel though, only in the tire with it off the ground.

    When your tire moves is it moving both tires simultaneously or just the one? Does it move the steering wheel too?

    Not sure if that will help pinpoint it but that's what mine does...every component shifts with the tire a little bit.

    With this issue its a new steering column or drill out old pin hammer new one in or some out here weld it which if you get in a wreck the column won’t collapse.
    Man I have this issue and have a steering column that I repined ready to go . I have two extra columns at this point.

    Yeah I've heard of the mod some guys do where they tack weld the column to get rid of the slop in the wheel.

    I honestly didn't look that closely. I do know that both wheels do not move together, because I tested at first with only one wheel in the air. I didn't check to see if the steering wheel moves though.
    I tac welded mine. It made a big difference in driving gravel roads. Eliminated a lot of clunking and also tightened it up.

    OME lift, 4x sliders, Demello rear bumper, custom front bumper, Engo 9000lb winch
    Tac weld mod to the slip joint.




    Wheel bearing movement will be felt regardless of direction you grab. Since it felt fine vertically its your tie rods, steering rack or steering column.

    Lift both side off the ground and check. If both move equally together if its likely the steering rack. The roller or bushing (depends on year) in the rack might need to be tightened.

    Interesting, our situations are different then. When I move one wheel side to side the other does the same thing simultaneously.
