Sadly I wish I could claim the same...I got hit twice in VA for my rack obstructing my plate so I have it bolted on the outside of the rack on a hinge so when its up its visible, but rotates back to vertical when I have my rack deployed with a bike on it. I do agree though that its pretty rare to get pulled...but Virginia are full of assholes.

Im in TN and never had an issue on any vehicle I have had with my old tray rack.

that just depends on what you need, easiest would be the tailgate pad or tray rack. Those block the rearview camera. I use yakima bedrock rails and front loaders on top of the bed. Some use cleat mounted fork mounts in the bed. Really just depends on what you need

That was one of the reasons I ended up mounting my bike above the bed.

Nice overloading setup. Forks in the drawer on the left, spoons and knives on the right? In all seriousness though, nice job. Clean lines. It looks like the drawers are shorter than the length of the bed is there storage doors for below up front? Do you plan on covering it with carpet or something?

I chose not to risk it living in Irvine. It's exactly the kind of thing cops will pull you over for here. So I actually purchased the license plate mount and then added a third brake light/license plate light. Takes a couple minutes to swap.

Does the license plate mount block the back up camera? I suppose I could just take the rack on and off each time I ride, which is typically once or twice a week. Sounds like a PITA, but I'm loading up the bike anyway, so what's a couple extra minutes to put the rack on as well? It is at least very easy to put on and take off. Kind of a buzzkill though, as part of the reason I bought this rack and decided to get this one was so that I'd have something more low profile when I was driving around without the bike on.

With a single carrier it does not block the camera. I often have the rack on the truck anyway. It looks like it might with a double.

I had this carrier before the truck so I choose to install the upgrades to make it not legal with the truck.

As far as cost goes, you can buy a front bed rail and a Rocky Mount LoBall Mount. Has locking axle pin and bike stays secure. I also throw a bike lock cord thing on the bike and dismounted wheel for extra security. Grand total was $70 for the Mount and $45 for the rail.

Also fits 29 bikes with the tailgate up if you swing the ass of the bike to the left or right a couple of inches. Haven’t had any issues whatsoever transporting bike.

Not to mention that the beauty of having a bedrail Mount is that you can easily add more mounts/bikes or in case you want to take the homies or fam along

This and the tailgate pad are the easiest/cheapest solutions for sure

Ha forks in the right and left, typically there will be 2 bikes back there.
You are correct about the drawers not being the full length, I went with the longest most reasonably pricing drawer slide which is like 38", but with a bike mounted the pull out until they hit the seat. Anyway up from those open with piano hinges, I'm waiting on some flush mount pull locks to install in those.
I was going to put a cheap glue down vinyl down on the top and paint the rest, but I picked up some stain and sealer so Im going to try that first.

New whip! It's been a long time since I've had a full squish MTB- last one was a 2011 Trance X2. To say they have come a long way would be the understatement of the year! This thing is an effin blast

C70 and it's the second RM I've got from that shop in as many years (suzi q fatty as well) so I was able to get a price I couldn't say no to. I was between the instinct and the tbolt and ended up going with the 29er more for familiarity than anything. My last MTB was a kona big kahuna hardtail and I'm partial the the 29er characteristics over the 27.5

It pedals amazingly well for a 140mm rig even in the open position and is way faster than me going down haha If you can get a sweet deal I'd go for it, but I'm partial...I don't think you can go wrong between either the instinct or the tbolt, just comes down to wheel size preference
