I've been wanting one of these for awhile and currently saving up. Few more months and I'll be pulling the trigger hopefully.

Questions for the guys that have em. Do you think the rear and cab windows are worth it, to see through while driving? Also considering the side windows as well. They would be nice to have all 4 (Extra 1.5k), But at the same time would make it easier for thieves to look in and see what you have inside.

All the other adders I feel I can do myself over time but the windows and color matching I am still up in the air about. Any advice?

Windows can be added later if you like, but you can’t color match as easy or thourogh. Color matching also protects the hab from corrosion.

I sometimes think about windows, but I like the descrete nature and security of the windowless.

I went windowless... glad I did as i have stuff mounted on the interior and exterior of each wall. I also like the secure feeling of no windows. A back up cam goes a long way... I eventually want to get a camera that is running full time and mount screen where my rear view mirror used to be. If I were to ever put a window in , I might get one of the front pass through windows, mainly for the dogs, also would be kind of nice to keep an eye on gear while on the rougher roads.

I like having the cab and rear hatch windows to see out of while driving. The rear window is fairly tinted so it's not easy for anyone to look inside through, it's also small so would be hard to pull anything out of (and I don't think most thieves would be smart enough to figure out how to open the hatch from the inside)

I didn't want side windows though, I felt that would make it more prone to break-ins.

I'm glad I have the cab and hatch windows - nice to see what's behind me while I'm driving. Didn't get the side windows because of privacy, though not concerned with thieves - it would only take a large screwdriver or wonder bar to pop the hatch if they wanted to check out what's inside.

I got the front and rear windows, not too helpful, i’d Look into the side hatches more than the windows. The side hatches are made by tern overland. I installed a different size one on mine, pretty stout. I color matched, it’s a bunch of money, and honestly, you could always wrap it down the road easily enough. The color match doesn’t match hatches last I checked. The hatches AT uses are a custom size and finished to look like aluminum. The one below I painted black before installing. If you don’t mind cutting into your truck later, you could always install your own. CCC94443-F289-421F-BEB2-9717C71D65C4.jpg

I have a cab window and use it to look in on the dog. Having a backup camera really reduces the need to see out the back and my gear is usually stacked so high, a window wouldn't do that much anyway. I guess it’s a use question: The only time I miss it is on multi-lane highways.

Hmm yeah the cab window seems most important it sounds. Probably gonna bail on the side windows for privacy. Still on the fence about the lift gate but may do that as well. And just tint it very dark.

What's about wraps apposed to the color match. Curious what that would cost and what kind of design you got.

You could wrap it yourself for a few hundred maybe $500 depending on what vinyl.

I've done vinvyl before but I'd never take on a job that big. Curious how much a pro shop would be just ballpark. Will be a big driver of the route I'll go. Im only saving $500 or so might as well go color matched from the beginning. If it's a big difference then I could see waiting and eventually going wrapped.

best bang for your buck is a diy wrap or just color match. Talk to a shop an get a quote, the surface is pretty easy, they may do for less than you wight think. Personally, I'd wrap myself if I had to do it again.

Been on the fence for a wrap too. Part of me wants to do the whole truck though.

I finally got a couple more nights in the habitat. There were monsoon like rains on Saturday night but I stayed mostly dry considering how much water there was. There's a few spots I need to seam seal and should be set.

    Lol
For only $60 it wasn’t terrible lol I was dry in the monsoon. It poured on us, the rain was going sideways.

But in all serious. The habitat was awesome. So worth it if you’re camping all the time.

Habitat electrical question here. I have a few switches and lights inside and on the roof/overhang from AT. I threaded some new duplex wires in and installed 2 USBs and 1 12V receptacle for the fridge in the rear pillars. With wires on, they touch the back of the pillar when the ring is tightened on the back of the plugs (inside rear corner of habitat). I had to take the plastic off the wire ends and shrink wrap them to fit. Are there shallow USBs and 12V receptacles?

Id have to look again but I think the USBs I put in the rear pillar are the same scenario, just make sure it is properly fused, and I believe I may have put 2 layers of shrinkwrap to protect from chafing.

Probably my biggest complaint with the habitat is those corner electrical panels. Space is too tight, not enough room to work with IMO.
