Tire pressure won't change much for climbing, but tire size will. If you've put taller tires on your truck, you've altered the trucks gearing, effectively putting it into a higher gear, which reduces the trucks torque.

    3 2 leveling kit. 285/70/17 ko2s on 17x10 fuel beast
I have them and I like them. 285 70 17 ko2s. Little less pressure they ride great on the road. Great wear.

To each his own.....I pulled the E rated BFG's off of my Pro right off the bat and put on one size bigger P rated Firestones and have had no issues with the type of off road use it sees (mostly dirt track stuff) and on the highway it rides waaaaaaaaaaaaay nicer. Put the BFGs on my 1st gen Tundra which is pretty much a work type truck and they are much easier to live with on it than they were on the taco. If you could find decent C rated 265/75/16's in a C rated I would have put those on the Pro, but not much out there in 16's that isn't a D or E rated tire (which ride like bricks on a Taco regardless of what some folks say). just my not so humble opinion...

I've run Es since my early wheeling days. I personally love them. I am somewhat considering stepping down to LR C just to see if I even need the Es, plus I'm sure the reclaimed fuel economy couldn't hurt. The major advantage and winner for me is that I have NEVER gotten a puncture or nail in tire even when my treads were at laughable levels of low in the /32s range.

we all use our trucks differently..not much selection in C rated 16"

the answer may be to step up to 17's and select a lighter C rated

Same, although I did blow out one E rated tire by rounding the sidewall on a sharp rock, on a fire road of all places. Was a freak incident though. But in all my other countless harder wheeling trips, I've never had a tire issue with E rated tires, unless you count them being stiff as hell at anything over 15psi. Small price to pay though for peace of mind knowing they're going to take most anything you can throw at them.
