What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

My 5yr old that was on the trip with me when it happened is already on it. I seriously didn’t even have to prompt him. He’s all about getting a winch.

FYI, 590 is pretty soft. If your getting springs I'd go 700ish. I run 800 up front and custom 8 leaf packs in the back rated for 300lb extra constant load, zero body roll and eats speed bumps for lunch. My brother in law says mine rides better than his new stock King Ranch Just my $0.02 worth

Installed the new shocks.



Went with B110 5100s as the normal 5100s were over 2” too short for the current suspension. One was blown out and the other is getting soft. Their destruction is my fault since they were too short.



Had to temporarily “modify” the brake lines to get a little more slack in them at full droop. Spaced the bracket up a bit and bent it as well to get about another 1.5” of slack in the lines.



This’ll work until I get longer lines.


Pretty happy with the droop now considering I’m still using a stock leaf pack as a base.





The truck rides soooo much better now. I guess I just got used to how shitty the truck road before. I kinda just assumed it was from the air bags being inflate so much.

 

Those look great! You’ll want extended thread lug nuts. All the ones I’ve seen are spline drive. I run the Gorilla ones and have zero issues

Yesterday I wanted to continue routing my wires for the nav install.
By the time I got home the weather was threatening.
Worked a 12 hour day, sucks.

I'll try and do the wires today, bought 3/8 plastic loom from AutoZone.

Hi Rise Cross bars had plenty of unused space so I shifted RTT over and added a pelican case. I need some extra storage space. Also, still have some empty space on the cross bars for something else.

 

Try 884 springs

For reference, this was my '07 on 5100's with 884 coils and 255/75r17 tires. Already settled in over a few hundred miles i got about 1.25" lift from the 884's

 

Not today, but this weekend I performed some cataract surgery.

Used toothpaste, baking soda and elbow grease. Not perfect, they still have a little yellow tinge to them, but they are minty fresh and run little risk of gum disease.

Now I can see MUCH better. Most of all I can see that I need to aim my headlights:

Couldn't see the passenger side hot spot before getting rid of the haze.

 

How did you get access to the back of the power outlet to replace it?

 

Essentially you have to take apart most of the dash. Take the piece off that’s below the steering wheel. Then the piece that surrounds the gauge cluster. Take the center console out. Then take the radio and it’s surround out. It’s a lot of steps for one little plug. As I recall, the panel that has the lighter outlets is the lowest level that other stuff attaches to so everything else has to come off.

Oh and the hole had to be enlarged slightly to fit this particular plug.
