Thanks man. I went from 375ish down to about 120ish (very unhealthy low weight). Once I hit 120 and realized I was basically addicted to losing weight and something had to change. I then got the bodybuilding/powerlifting bug and gained close to 80lbs in a year. Now I walk around at 195ish and about 10% body fat.

Hard work and clean eating will go a long way to increasing your physical and mental health.

lol me too. when folks say eating clean is good for your mental health I'm like "you ever had a 5$ box at Taco Bell? that shit's good for your mental health"

cooking/prepping to eat clean is bad for my mental health haha

I'm downing my first Yeti of coffee, no breakfast, and will probably have Taco Mama or something of the sort for lunch today. Prep baby.

y'all advise me here, what would you do situation..

if I got the "go ahead" from my new job to put my 2 weeks in sometime today-friday...that would make my 2 weeks include next week and the following. my boss is on vacation all week next week, so one of my "2 weeks" he would be gone. I know it's policy to just have to give 2 weeks, but would you do an additional week so that there were at least 2 weeks of you here with your boss to figure out their move for your position? or do you say F it and just go with policy and basically only give him one week to do whatevers needed? I just don't want to burn any bridges or leave any bad tastes you know?

Rule of thumb is 2 weeks. Its more coincidental that your boss is on vacation 1 of those weeks. You did your due diligence. Also, even if you do everything the right way there is still possible burned bridges strictly due to your current company being short handed no matter when you leave. I say F it and enjoy your last 2 weeks there with 1 being without your boss.

its actually company policy here for it to be 2 weeks.

what I want to say is F it and leave today lol, but that can't happen.

I feel like the "right/moral" thing to do is give them an extra week, but the only thing I "have" to do is follow policy of 2 weeks.

Do you have a signed offer letter? Don’t do anything before that.

I think it depends on your relationship with your boss past that. If you have a good working relationship, have a talk with him this week. Otherwise just tell HR next week and call it a day.

I'm doing intermittent fasting with fasted cardio. Just trying it out for the summer.

I do have a signed offer letter, accepted, and just doing background/preliminary stuff right now (drug test/background check/etc) but I've been told all of that is good to go.

the next step is waiting to hear from my new manager, and he's just taking his precious sweet time to contact me. that's when they have said to tell your current company you're leaving so I have to wait on that...

If I can get down to 175lbs, I'd be shredded wheat. Walking around at 185 now, I've still got some love handles and a little pudge around my belly. It's crunch time and it's time to hit cardio a little harder and a few sessions of Ab Ripper X.

I was just in your position a few months ago. I turned in a 2 week notice here, and worked it all out. When I got to my new job, I worked 2 weeks and then turned in another 2 week notice to come back to my old job! 2 weeks is all you'll really need and even that's pretty respectful in the working world. Most just walk off the job.

Nah, give me a few months before summer and I can transform my body pretty drastically. I'm a mesomorph. A lot harder if you are an ecto or endo.

so you don't think doing my 2 week period with 1 of those weeks my boss being on vacation is rude?

Not at all. As long as you let your boss know before he leaves for his vacation, you did your due diligence and turned in your 2 weeks.

That is something only you can know based off your boss’ personality and the relationship you have built with him / what he has done for your career.

I would probably tell him on Friday before he rolls out

At the end of the day you took the new job for you not your boss. You were obviously looking for somewhere else so your loyalty is to yourself. Understand that your current boss gave you a chance and a job but as long as you abide by their company policy you are obligated to nothing else.

I put up 185lbs 6 times on the flat bench a few days ago, not near as strong as I used to be. I'm trying to finish with 225 by the time I leave for the beach in 6 weeks.
