Lift, pedal commander, led foglights, led interior lights, led back ups, led under lighting, urd tcai, led headlights, methanol injection, 76mm tb, hood struts, dif breather mod, ratiotek trans kit, x-series gauges, true cool trans cooler, belt wrap mod, 2.8 pulley
The DAC traction control is absolutely priceless when you need it. I would certainly rolled my truck without it. Took a 60 foot downhill section steep as stairs. Without it I'd be totalled and having awkward insurance phone calls.

4low n 1st gear, let it idle. engine braking in 4 low is amazing.

ECGS is hard to beat with their customer service and exchange program. Buy the locker and it comes installed at no extra charge. 5 year warranty.
They have a Tacoma ready Dana 60 similar to the F9 Currie has for the Tacoma.

Well true, but id gladly give up some on road traction for the ability to selectably fully lock the rear end off road, it is a truck after all, not a race car.

    Anyways,

BACK TO TUNING. I am finalizing my auto trans playing (at least thats what i tell myself) Definitely liking how things are working now, more more consistent shift points as far as rpms go with steady throttle. Ill post up what i have changed when im happy with results.

Yep. I needed that. But uphill it was 4 low, 1st, traction engaged and balls out throttle to make it. Down was doable but it rained hard overnight and getting out was just barely an idea.

If I wasnt 30k deep in truck payment I would do that. This is 2k. 1 if my axel sells.

Also trans tuning points made a real difference too.

What have you messed with as far as trans tuning?

Currently i am (7th interation of testing):

    • 2 to 3 up shift + 120 rpms <= 40 % accelerator, and + 80 rpms @ 50% to hold onto 2nd a smidge longer on the top end
    • 3 to 2 downshift -120 rpms @ 0 / 21 %, -180 at 40 / 65 / 85 %, to hold onto 3rd under acceleration longer at the bottom end
    • 4 to 5 upshift + 200 rpms 0 - 30% to hold onto 4th a lil longer on the top end to get rid of the race to 5th condition
    • 5th TCC apply + 125 rpms 0-18% and 75 rpms @ 24% to mate well with the later upshift to 5th
    • 5th TCC release -300 rpms 0-42% to eliminate popping out of lockup in 5th, it essentially now times a 5th unlocked condition with a full downshift to 4th.

So.... I am just dumb when I comes to computer work. Our tuning guy mister J knows my settings. Please compare notes with him. Any new knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

You can’t load his tune directly unless you pay an additional 2 credit “fee”.

You’ll have to manually copy/paste the modified values into your stock map, save that as “your tune”, then load that file.
