I recently bought an 09 Tacoma DCLB and after looking into it I'm not entirely sure what model it is. The badge on the tailgate says it's an sr5 which I had assumed to be true, however, there are some details that make me think otherwise. It has the TRD sport hood scoop (I know its common for people to swap to this), it has the color matching bumpers and mirrors with JBL audio, and when I typed the VIN in Toyota's website it says it came from the factory with the PQ TRD Sport Extra Value Package (not sure what that is exactly). Anyway, the truck is great and I love it, I plan on upgrading it to handle overlanding excursions with ease, I just want to know if I bought the sr5 like I thought I did, or if I got the TRD sport instead.

More than likely it's a TRD Sport. If you have some pictures, that would help for sure.

You don't buy a truck for its fucking fenders!
    2.5" lift w/35's
The fenders are color matched on the sport also. Cant tell if he switched the hood and painted bumpers on an sr5 or if he painted the fenders black on a sport and put the sr5 badges on it lol

No that I see the pictures, those are aftermarket fenders. Looks like a sport to me

Looks looks like a TRD SPORT, pics of the interior? The original tailgate could have been replaced with a junkyard or stolen one lol!

Everything on the exterior screams TRD sport.

Now that you say that I remember the Carfax had said it was in a fender bender at some point(only minor damage reported thankfully) so that could be very possible! Ill try to get some interior and exterior photos from every side as soon as I can

I haven't gotten underneath it yet to see if it has a lift or leveling kit but it definitely has something done to it!

If it has spacers an you plan on wheeling fairly hard. The TW community highly suggest removing them an getting a proper coil lift. The tiny stock struts an spacers don’t mix well. The bottom will snap an mess your day up.

Yeah from all the research Ive been doing I will definitely be swapping it out for a lift if it does have a leveling kit currently. I ran out and snapped some quick pictures so hopefully these can help us get to the bottom of it!IMG-0730.jpg IMG-0734.jpg IMG-0736.jpg IMG-0737.jpg

Could be wrong but it does look like a spacer lift with rear blocks and sagging rear leafs. :)

It explains your front end is higher than the rear.

You’re missing your roof mouldings and the trailer plug too.

Yeah it definitely looks like I'll be shelling out for a lift kit, those spacers wont do for what I'm trying to do with the truck.
