AS soon as I sell my Diamond Back SE (wife bought for the wrong model) I am definitely getting one for my truck. So disappointing.

I started to buy one of those snap tonneau covers. I had one on a 1991 chebby S-10 and like it until after the 1st year. The one I had, had chrome snaps and they started to tarnish. I just bought a Extang Trifeta a couple weeks ago. It looks pretty nice but has one place water pools up on it. Only thing I really don't like about it.

But yeah the snap tonneau served me well. Just learned that it is much easier to pull and snap closed after it sat out in the sun.

I have the DCLB, hard to find the cover for it. I mainly want to use it because it locks, and I can take all my boards to the beach. I had the DCSB, but boards didn't fit. Finding a DCLB, TRD OR in Cement with the Toyota tonneau is the ultimate unicorn apparently.

Pdxrado- Did you end up buying a tonneau cover? I’m trying to find something similar to what you shared from Amazon and curious if you have an update.

I did end up purchasing this one. As far as soft-cover tonneau's go, it's totally fine and does the job. Easy to install, easy to open and close, easy to remove if you need the full bed. I am going to return it though only because i've discovered that I would prefer to have a hard-cover tri fold rather than a soft-cover. If I were sticking with a soft tri-fold, would totally keep it. Their customer service is very good too.

FWIW here is the one i'm going to buy. Going to give it a few weeks to see if i can find a used one. If I can't, will just buy new. the best combo of high ratings & good value that I could find for a hard tri fold tonneau, plus you dont have to remove the side rails inside the bed and remount them in another position like you do for the extang or bakflip.

Thanks for the feedback....I’m trying to get something around $200 and have it installed in about 10 days for a trip. This is what I have in my cart but just can’t commit (yet). It’s tough being cheap AND in a rush https://www.amazon.com/Gator-Tri-Fo...nid=4719372011&s=automotive&sr=1-1-spons&th=1

Honestly i would go with the OeDro. It will arrive quickly, it will take you 10m to install, and is in your budget. Two things to know-

    1. I would recommend installing it, then adjusting the position of the mounting plates that go into the side rails. If they hang slightly past the end of the rails toward the rear of the bed that's okay.
    2. You will need to play around with how tight you want the front-most mounting clamps. I initially had them too tight, then too lose, and eventually found the right balance. It feels a little janky at first but you'll discover it works just fine.

    Good luck.

(edit) and by the way i'm sure you'd be fine with the gator too. I just got the oedro because i saw a few bad notes on the gator on this site. But it's far more popular than the oedro so that's probably why.

That’s a great update, thanks. Just looked at the OeDro on Amazon again; there’s 1 left and it’s $15 off. No pressure but I guess I better find a coin to flip. I’ll let you know which way I go. Thanks again for the update and insights.

I guess it comes down to use. I had a roll up before which was nice since it was a happy medium between using the bed for large stuff when needed but having a cover to use for security/waterproofing when needed. I now have a factory cover which is nice. It is pretty heavy though, but for the most part, it stays closed for me which is fine.
