Did you check the level at the right temperature or just put in what took out? Notice any difference in shifting?

Does anyone do or know how to do drywall, taping and texture work? I am adding a walk in pantry and will be needing some help in this department.

Followed the diy on here or you tube.
It's pretty easy. Drain _Fill_ set dash by doing the secret code like Mario bros. Then let warm turn off open let extra drain . Close re heat check for leaks. Put heavy ass skids back on. If you have ed them.not much harder then an oil change

You forgot the important step of spilling half the expensive oil on the ground after you discover a leak......

After hours of reading and calling about every place with good rating in the area. I decided to pay a professional to do a fluid exchange. Need the time to prep the nursery anyway.

Haha professional you say. Were did you go. Most lube techs are far from pros. But I pay sometimes as time is money. Still check for leaks after. And ask if they checked after a warm up. Some places will just drain and fill and call it good.

I haven't gone yet, plan to Friday. Decided on Sac Specialty Automotive. They have good reviews, A+ bbb, and were very knowledgeable on the phone. I asked each place what they do (drain/fill, exchange, flush, drop the pan), how much, do they check the temp, what type of fluid do they use, do they work on Tacomas, and what do they recommend? If they didn't know if I had a dip stick or not or what WS fluid meant, I moved on. I feel I've done the research to make good choice, but you never know.

I'll definitely check it over after, thanks for the reminder.

    I'll report on the outcome.

Notice no different. Only changed it cause I think I was just over 120k miles and figured probably should. I did it and transfer case front and rear diffs. I was doing the diffs anyway after break in new gears.

Looks like they did it right.......but why are the remote resi’s on the intake manifold? I would need to see the “custom fabrication” in person to see if it’s worth 40g

So far no problems and I'm happy with the work they did. I checked under and looked all around, did not see any leaking transmission fluid. We'll see if there's any drops on the garage floor in the morning. The taco shifted fine on the 9 mile drive home. Seemed to coast to a stop smoother, but that could be placebo effect.

It was a clean shop, the staff was friendly, professional, and they gave me a ride to work and back. They did an inspection and set the tire pressure. They didn't try to sell me on more work. They'll email an estimate on an oil leak, which I already knew about.

So they did check at temp using the Mario bros method @Speedo referenced? I prefer the CONTRA cheat code reference myself.

It’s sweet. Their yard is close to where I live. Resi’s Aren’t on the intake manifold. There’s a cross brace between coil over towers they’re strapped to. They sit close to the manifold cover, but not mounted to it.
