That’s why I wired it to a separate switch. My intent is to use the lights as utility lighting when setting up camp etc.

The camera doesn't refocus, it's still showing the same amount of ground.

I think they are a little bright to have permanently wired to your existing reverse circuit. I think backing up in city parking lots, at night, the glare from the rigids would be pissing people off. At very least you should have an option to disable them.

    Ya buddy!!!! Nice!

(But did you have to pull the bumper and valence off to get a proper snatch?)

For the Ford, yes we did. There isn't actually any sort of front tow or recovery hook on those things. Ford want you to either buy a cradle for it or call a tow company. It was only about eight screws and a couple of clips to get that front bumper off anyway.

what size spare are people able to fit under the truck with the RCI rear bumper? i just have my stock spare (265/70/16) now that i installed the bumper but was wanting to put a 33" tire for the spare before i got the bumper but i dont think it'll allow it consider the hidden hitch is a half inch away from 265 under already...

There is about 1/2” clearance between the RCI and the stock tire size hanging in its natural position when hoisted. There is nothing preventing you from cutting down the hitch receiver tube, though that may weaken it as a receiver.

yea definitely don’t want to cut, guess i’ll have to look into bed mounting options for a bigger spare

@Stocklocker nice pics man. Beat me to it :hattip:

@xGRIMEYx I hadn't even thought about mounting the spare when upgrading tire sizes.... Oops. Gonna have to look at some bed options too.

@Stocklocker what became of your spare mounting with the bumper? I just pulled the trigger on an RCI rear and I run 255/85r16 and planned to keep it in the stock location

Still the same as stock. The RCI bumper does not affect the spare. It also does not increase the room up under there. You may struggle to jam a 33” tire up in there without bending the OEM tire positioning tabs out of the way like some do with the OEM bumper to fit a 33” spare.

Still loving this bumper. The departure angle is a huge improvement. I hardly ever scrape the ass-end now. Still looks good too. A quality powder coat by RCI.

The chain hook hole is in the same position as stock, in the OEM filler plate above the bumper. You can see it in this pic just below the C and O in Tacoma. Sorry about the mud

I must not know what I'm talking about as far as a chain hook cutout...I'm thinking of the place you hook your trailer to as an emergency connection point. On my truck (2019 OR) they hang next to/below the stock trailer hitch underneath the bumper. They are the low point of clearance and when I was on a jeep trail a couple weeks ago I bashed them off a rock and bent them slightly. So that would be a major selling point to me if they were raised for more clearance.

My bad. I thought you meant the place where you put that hook shaped rod in to lower the chain that supports the spare tire.

The trailer chain hooks you describe are on the bottom plate beside the receiver (located behind license plate). They are cut into the steel flush with the bottom. I’ll see if I have a picture.
