I’d say 50% of the people who go to my university are Southern California transplants.

My friend goes to USC and he says 50% of the people who go there are Northern California transplants.

In fact 3 of my roommates are all from Southern California. I’m the only local.

I don't really disagree fully, but they're a lesson in what happens if it is all one sided just like Alabama is a lesson in what happens if it is all one sided. Balance is important and both sides have good things to contribute.

If SoCal can become its own state and take all its garbage people with it then I’m happy. NorCal is a geographically nice place to live.

That’s been so overused it’s become a generic term for any state that wants to secede and or become a new state.

They give that name to every state that tries to create new states. Just like how eastern wa, north idaho, and western montana try to create Jefferson every once in a while. It doesn't work, turns out when a section of a state is poor and non populous they don't get any say in what happens.
