Bought my truck used and have had no issues. A month ago I had to air down for a week long run in the mountains. Got back on pavement and aired up. The TPMS light did not go out. Took to two different shops. they used some meter and said no TPMS in mine or they are bad? I swear I had no light until aired down this time? I took to dealer yesterday and they said my SCS aftermarket rims do not have TPMS and they can't shut off light. I searched and there is a mod to make permanent light out but is there any other choice or idea. Oh I called previous owner and he swears they have TPMS???????

 

I would venture a bet that they are in there. I would guess they were mounted in your wheels, but being aftermarket they don’t sit like oem, so they stick out farther from the wheel. When you aired down it’s very possible you broke them all. Just a guess but sounds likely.

 

SCS can use stock TPMS. That is what I have. They may have installed a strap type in yours and when you aired down you may have broke one.

Wow, never heard of trans fluid making that much of a difference! My truck is a ‘14 and doesn’t even have 35,000 on it and I’m not getting anything close to that even driving like a granny!

Check the pressure in your spare. Bottom center of the dash is a tire button. Try to push it and see if the light goes out.

Thanks. The rear seats are useless in these trucks so the platform turns the rear into useful space.

 

I am mostly stock and average 19.5. Got all they way down to 18 mpg's, but a fresh set of plugs, throttle body clean, and MAF clean got me back to 19.5. I've seen tanks over 20 if I really baby her.

Its mostly flat where I live.

 

City, highway or mixed? I get mixed miles here in DC area & been averaging 19.5 for the past several tanks. Stocked height & 265/70/16 tire size.

 

I low key wanna get a roof rack JUST so I can do 360 degree lighting lol

 

Lol, this one is a DIY one off tacomaworld. Think it cost me about $70 or so.

 

Installed ARB roof rack mount and welded up a rack to fit it. Can't believe the money people charge for some damn tube steel. I already had a JD Squared bender and a tig welder and some 1" .120 wall tube steel. Spent $40 on the cross bars and took me about a day to do the bends and the notching and the welds. I bought the ARB rails because I didn't feel like dealing with making templates and stuff to figure out the roof mounting and I figured they're pretty tried and true. Now I have a way to mount a RTT and carry dirt bikes in the bed.
