Depends if it was winter or summer.

    But that only happened once.

FYI exped products are on sale at Rei right now. 25% off I believe which adds up on those mats.

I have the one for my ground tent and love it.

    Yeah.
Love my ExPed, expensive but totally worth it. Got mine from Moosejaw, they usually have a coupon code you can use.

What size tent is yours? I have the Mt. Shasta, which I think has a 56" wide mattress. So this would be about 2" short, total. Which shouldn't be too bad, right?

    Yeah.
I have the 56" Shasta as well (it's actually the old Bachelor, which is now the Shasta platform, Bachelor is now 48"). The ExPed MegaMat Duo 10 fits perfectly width-wise and fills the space without interfering with the hinge area. Length-wise it is a bit short, but not enough to care about. You can leave shoes/clothes/2AM bladder relief bottle down there.

I considered going with the new Bachelor, but the narrower ExPed won't fill the width and I kind of like having extra space anyway, and the option for my wife to come along someday. It's just me and the dog for the most part.

For you guys with hard shell tents that overhang the cab- what is the minimum amount of clearance I need between the bottom of my tent and the shark fin antenna? I’m trying to keep the tent mounted as low as possible on my shell, but obviously don’t want any bed flex to cause contact.

    Yeah.
Moosejaw as well, must be an ExPed promotion. Sadly I don't currently live near an REI. They need to put one in here, this area is all about doing stuff outdoors, but I guess it's more Bass Pro Shops country.

Heads-up on those, ran into a dude that bought one and you really can't store much in them. If you feel like you will want a topper or something to soften the experience, it's not going to fit folded like it will in the standard tents and even bedding was apparently a chore.

Also, as per Tepui, that 7" doesn't include the ladder which is another ~3". I emailed them while deciding on a rack (cab vs 3/4 height) and they informed me their ruggedized tents are actually 15-16" mounted, not the 12" on the site.
