    She showed up at our house one day. She was pretty skinny and I’d just finished grilling some fish, so I fed her. When I got up the next morning, she was peeking through the window in the front door. I took her around the neighborhood to see if she belonged to anyone, but had no luck. Even went to other neighborhoods in the area.
    We just called her “Dog” because she seemed trained and we were sure someone would eventually come looking for her and claim her.

    That was about 4 years ago. We still call her “Dog”, and she’s the best pet we’ve ever had.

    I'm planning a 9 day trip from Houston to Colorado Durango/Silvertop area in late June. I would love to bring my dog (Australian Shepherd) to adventure with me. She minds herself nicely and listens quiet well. We will be going through a lot of the passes in the area camping a day or two at a time then staying in town. Are most areas dog friendly towns/hotels? She will be on leash in the city but more off leash while camping and off roading.

    Not a lot of off roading camping trips in Texas more than a days trip since they are more off road parks.

    Thought for a second that my wife had uploaded a photo of me driving with our pup! I am the biggest fan of rotties now after our ‘little’ one (19 weeks and 45 pounds) has been absolutely freaking awesome.


    She’s a kick ass adventurer too—snow, mountains, hiking, and hanging in camp. She’s got it all dialed.
