Just because it's the same doesn't mean it sucks? So all the other clutches suck as well? Haha. Sure.

Aside from the reverse issue mentioned I don't really think there's a bone to pick. The third GEN transmission is light years better than the second, and I still wouldn't complain about the second gen.

It's going to be a hard sell on me. I put a bobcat with leads and tools in the back of my truck and drive up actual ski resort slopes to go pipeweld. Never had an issue with the clutch being too light. My last truck was 125k on the original clutch before I sold it

Same transmission different gear set. Input shaft design is the same.

Reverse gear being a higher ratio is kind of the nature of the beast. When you shift into reverse you are moving the reverse counter gear in to a position as an idler between what would normally be 2 mismatched forward gears. Normally results in a ratio between the 2 gears on the counter shaft and the main shaft.

I’m not trying to sell you and never said it sucks.
If you are happy with it good for you.
I personally don’t like the feel (or lack of)
modern clutches and like you have driven plenty of MT vehicles in 30+ years of driving.
I’m not the first to bring this up, many others don’t like the lack of feel.
Trying to back up is tricky with the lack of feel and the reverse gearing.

Get rid of the clutch accumulator and the feel is there. The accumulator just masks it.

Yep, getting rid of it makes the release point feel "normal" IMO. No more damn delay.
Having said this, the release point is still quite high in the clutch stroke for my taste - but this is also my first Tacoma so there's that.

Already done and the free play adjustment has been done also.
Helps but still not to my liking.
Guess there is a reason the stage 2 URD clutch kit is always sold out.

My 2000 and 2008 Tacoma's were awesome as the release point was dead middle. My 2015 was horrible as it was all the way at the top, damn near had to have my foot off the pedal before it caught, the 2017 is better but still higher than I would prefer.

Never tried cross legged driving? Put soft foot on gas, clutch with right. Did that for a bit when I snapped a clutch ankle

There’s a bolt that goes through the clutch pedal on my ‘13 that the nut fell off of. I didn’t realize it and one minute I was driving fine the next my clutch pedal was turning 45* when depressed lol.

After some time on the side of the road I got it back together and tightened it up good. To my surprise, zero clutch pedal squeak anymore and I’ve never had a more solid pedal throw since I’ve owned it.
