Yikes.... Some pretty dark and twisty rabbit holes nestled in that one. Come for the civil war thread, stay for the killing bigfoot thread!

I’ve adapted his technique to a more useful method involving mounting optics underneath on B rail and curling my support arm all the way around to the T rail.

Nice boots and boot cut jeans. Costs is SO in right now.

Makes sense. Super stable that way. Toss it on the 'gram and one up him.

My ‘gram is super boutique and not open to the public, as it adheres to the original purpose of the grams, which is a photo journal, and not attention whoring. Besides I don’t have the beard clout, and right off the bat drops my credibility scale with the general public like 9 points.

Yeah, the beard is a must. How long do you think he spends every morning brushing that?

I’m amazed at how many people insist on trying to come up with new ways at pointing a stick for attention.

OP, hang around here long enough and you'll quickly figure out this is a place where you're going to get lots of bad advice on how to spend money you don't need to spend. First of all, "bugging out" as you have described is your concern should be a last resort. You don't need to pack three weeks worth of camping gear in your truck to be prepared. You should however consider packing three to five weeks worth of provisions at your house and stay home while the other idiots are trying to get out, in, or whatever. The only things you need in your truck are the basics: spare tire and a means to change it (Toyota did that for you), jumper cables or battery jump starter, a gallon of water, spare jacket if living somewhere cold and/or remote, and maybe a basic first aid kit. All the rest is just going to add weight and deplete your gas mileage. If you want to pack extra fuel, food, guns, and whatever else go for it, but it's definitely super low priority in terms of realistic survival situations. Always prepare for the most likely scenarios (flat tire, dead battery, stuck in the snow), then if you feel the need work your way down to the least likely situations such as zombie apocalypse that others seem to prioritize.

Mm yes. The difference between him and others is that they can still point under duress.

Allegedly. Maybe costa is a vigilante or something.

Basic shit; TP, Multi-tool, gloves (work & med), basic flashlight, lighter, med kit, hand sanitizer, winter hat. I use this stuff often due to fire & rescue calls.

To the folks mentioning firearms, do yall actually leave a gun and ammo in your truck? That seems like a frighteningly bad idea. lol

As a gun owner, I can't fathom leaving one in my vehicle.

Nope. When I refer to truck gun, it simple means something I can throw in the back seat quick before I’m off to the mountains or woods. Something I bring if I know I’m going off the beaten path. I will leave an extra loaded magazine for my handgun and a small box of 12G shells and 22lr for my truck gun though. I can’t speak for the other guys, and I’d advise against permanently leaving any firearm in a vehicle for storage.

I know people who do, the lazy fucks. Even a police chief here had a bunch stolen from his ride.

IMO if you CCW you have to accept all the bullshit that goes with it. Surprisingly, most people I know who get a permit stop carrying after a bit, because it’s a chore.

The item I always found funny that many keep in their bug out bags is cash. I mean, if you're in a survival situation that is so shit, that credit/debit is no longer accepted, I can't imagine regular currency is still of any use, either.

I've seen bug out videos where they keep like thousands of dollars in their vehicle. lol

Oh no it’s not just for the apocalypse.

Say you need to bug out because something happened in your personal life. You know like murder or an extramarital affair got found out. Or the Russians. That money gets you from point a to point b and so forth. New clothes. Maybe a boob job.

My friends dad hides a few k in his car in case his wife kicks him out.
