EGR Valve Solenoid Coded?

So I went to Vato-Zone to have my yellow check engine light checked.

Code came up as bad EGR Valve Solenoid.

Where is it located and where/which solenoid should I use to replace it?

How long can I drive with it like this?

I have an 06 Prerunner V6.

 

Very easy fix. Might not even have to replace it, just pull it off, clean it good, replace. That’s worked for me on 2 cars

OK, here is the real scoop. If you are talking about the 2006 you have listed in your profile.

There is no EGR Valve. Neither the Six or the Four Cylinder engine has an EGR Valve.

Now that is out of the way, post the CEL Code and we can possible help you out.

 

Odd as it may be the yellow idiot light is no longer lit.
Should I care? Or is it a harbinger of evil to come?

I dont know the code number it said, so I guess I'm SOL on that.

 

All you can do is take it and have the codes looked at as there may still be a pending code for whatever issue you have...

Just be sure there is no EGR Valve.

 

What was the code that was pulled? This thread is useless without it

 

I will stop somewhere on the way home from work tonight and try to get a code number...
