    I agree on the look.

The answer is somewhat complicated. It doesn't seem effectively possible to filter high color temps down to the required selective yellow window. Rigid's white lights are very blue at over 7000k. It took them quiet a while to get the selective yellow sorted out before going down to warm white (4000-4300k) LEDs in order to meet the chromaticity requirements. Using a warmer color LED is more efficient because less light is lost though the amber filter to generate selective yellow light, leading to greater output with all other things being equal. Baja's 'white' light is a much better 5000k than Rigids 7000k white, but that still might be too high to hit selective yellow, and if they are able to get it down using filters alone it will require heavier filtering which will further reduces output over using a more efficient warmer color temp LED. Baja appears to be still working on figuring this out and I do not know if they have will be going away from their hallmark 5000k LEDs for better performance, or if they have even considered it. You'll notice they have delayed their selective yellow pods with no launch target date announced while keeping their white SAE pods launching in June. This science is far more challenging than most people realize and Baja's first foray into SAE lighting. A selective yellow SAE fog from an LED pod is probably the most challenging light to build in the SAE family, and certainly a very difficult one to start with for their very first SAE product. While Rigid's use of warm white LEDs is more efficient than using high color temp LEDs, if Baja got the filtration correct for their 5000k LEDs, they could use more power to overcome the lower efficiency filtration for better output. However the internal projectors in SAE fog pods have issues with deforming and melting as the heat is turned up, so throwing more power at the problem isn't as easy as it sounds either. Projector pods are actually the least efficient light in the pod family. So it is hard to say how that will play out or what they will do. Using a warmer color LED will produce a richer color yellow though than using a higher color temp light source. I'm really excited to see what they come out with as I have always liked Baja's lights. I'm also excited to see SAE lights gaining such traction that major brands are focusing their R&D efforts on building and improving these products, since the majority of us do use our trucks on the street.

Damn, your knowledge of lighting is honestly mind blowing. I'm looking forward to your comparison of the two when the time comes.

Nice. It appears they may have a lower temp than the preproduction model I have been running since December. I know most people don't like Rigid on this site but I love driving with them compared to the white version.

@crashnburn80 let me know when you want me to send one back to test against the production model. Looks like it may be soon and hopefully it stops raining here.

I’ve been wanting to do the same thing. I have the new yellow Rigids ordered but are on back order. I’m thinking of modifying the oem bezel and hopefully it will look better than the flat plate.

But of course, it was listed in the OP. Rago makes them.

Here is their combo kit that shows the mount: Unfortuntely Rago takes the mount page down whenever they are out of stock rather than just listing the item as out of stock, so it returns a 404 until they put it back up. This is the mount product page which has more photos (but is currently taken down):

My bad, you are right. I for some reason thought the Rigid ones were different.

These mounts look like they will fit Rigids, though the design is pretty similar. And the price point is pretty questionable.

If Apex is willing to make some, you might float the idea of getting a small group buy together to make it more worth their while and provide others more mounting options.

Are they plug and play or is there wiring involved? Mine are being delivered tomorrow

The Rigid kit is "plug and play" depending on how you want to wire them. I went into my stock fog light harness from the factory. But I needed a set of adapters that I got from Cali Raised for $10 (https://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Wirings-Converter-Adapters-Deutsch/dp/B06W5XCF9P).

The Rigid Pods themselves have a great wiring harness that they should come with if you want them on a separate switch.

Since they replaced my stock fog lights, I figured it made the most sense to wire them in that location. So basically it involves, Pod wiring connector plugging in to Cali Raised adapter, plugging into stock H11 fog harness. No wiring/splicing/cutting needed!

    They are great lights! Enjoy!

Does anybody know if those adapters fit the KC G4 universal fog lights into gx470 factory fog connectors?

The Deutsch part fits the KC's for sure. I'm not sure about the other end as the PO cut mine off so I just soldered the Deutsch part on & eliminated one potential trouble spot.

Good thinking. I was going to cut off the deutsch connector from the KC and solder on some connectors to fit factory connector but I like your idea better cutting off factory connector and soldering on deutsch connector.

Depends on what your OEM fog bulbs are. I’m sure there are plug and play adapters available. But soldering on the deutsch connector is an easy solution.

All great options that should work. Just keep in mind that with cutting into a pods included harness you may void the warranty. I know Rigid told me if I even unscrewed the wiring (the wiring is connected to the pod with two allen bolts) from their pods it would void their lifetime warranty.

Another good reason to splice into the vehicle wires.

I think the GX470 he is doing this on takes H3 fogs. I didn’t see any plug and play H3 adapters, though they would not be hard to make since H3s use blade terminal connectors.

I have the kc g4 in my Tacoma. They hook right into the factory plugs. Does the gx470 use the same plugs?
