Gonna be up there tomorrow, any easy trails for beginners? Would I need to air down?

Should always air down when you hit the dirt, even if it's an easy 2wd trail. Airing down makes the ride 100x more comfortable and gives you much better traction

Gonna be some fresh snow up there tomorrow, I hear that the storm today is creating snowfall at 6k feet...most of the trails up in Big Bear are at that elevation or higher.

For easy stuff I'd stick to the main fire roads, 3N16 and/or 3N14 and all the shorter ones in between. When they're snowy they can be difficult in spots

I hear it's supposed to warm up again this weekend so who knows how long the snow up there will hang around at the lower elevations, probably not long. Definitely will be muddy so be prepared for that

Nice edit! Although both clips of me trying to get the traction boards working were failed attempts haha. Just so everyone knows they did end up working once or twice :p

I thought about that too lol No one likes to see people get up stuff no problem anyways that want to see a struggle! Unfortunately I never got them on video getting out of the pickle or else I for sure would have thrown in (y)our success.

I think the one time they worked best was when we used them on your truck which we didn't get footage of lol.

Depends on your tires but I would go lower than that, that's hardly much lower than street driving pressure. I go down to 20psi on fire roads and 12 - 15psi on 4x4 trails.

If you have P rated tires I wouldn't go lower than 20. E rated you should be fine to go to 15 or lower if necessary.

At 15 psi the ride is considerably softer and you get a lot more grip from the tires.

I have P-rated (well SL, technically, but whatever) and I go to 17/18 for pretty much all the trails.

Can we get another one of these organized? I'm new to the 4w world and have been itching to get my truck on a trail, but would like to go with some people who could show me the ropes.
