It's funny hearing people complain about the turning radius on the 1st Gen tacomas. In the 250 I need about 3.5 lanes for a u turn. Backing into parking spots is usually at least a 3 point turn lmao

Driving the F-150 Single Cab Long Bed when I was in Mississippi was an experience. Gah damn those trucks are huge, my whole truck could fit in the bed of that thing.

Did it not do this before you did whatever you did today?

I'll be honest, I don't remember. But I do remember it never cranked this slow.

Did you do anything today that would affect this?

All I did was remove the throttle body, vacuum lines, and the throttle cables to access the fuel rail. I unplugged connectors along that area (fuel injectors, TPS, EGR temp. sensor) and of course I removed the fuel rail to fix the O-Rings.

Bad connection? Pull and clean the battery posts and terminals. Pull the engine and chassis ground and wire wheel them super clean. It's an odd one you got going on here.

I doubt it's the battery at this point, I ran the truck directly off the Mercedes and it made no difference.

Grounds I only touched two of them and they're grounded fine it appears.

Understood. It only takes a minute to clean up the grounds to make sure you have a clean contact patch though. I can't think of anything you did that would cause that slow crank. The starter is engaging but it just seems it's not getting enough amps to spin up fully. So, it's either starter contacts that are badly worn or grounds. It is strange that it started after you worked on your rig though.

I still suspect the starter has gone bad, it just doesn't add up. I'll have to test it against the FSM tomorrow, I don't know if that AutoZone test is credible.

I was cranking it a lot to check for fuel leaks, and I needed to pressurize the fuel rail to do that. In retrospect, I could've jumped the EFI relay but that never occurred to me until Dan mentioned it to me.

just a little :boink: with ya lol.

Take a step back, verify everything is plugged in where it should be and go from there. Very easy to miss something that would be otherwise obvious when you are wanting to be done with it.

I'm sure you will figure it out

I'll check tomorrow, I still suspect the starter but I don't have it with me at the moment to test it against the FSM.

Just doesn't add up. Running the truck directly off the Mercedes @ 2k RPM with roughly 14v produced the same result.
