All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I am rolling to my Mtn house above Asheville for some motorcycle riding.
    Who wants to join me?

We were going to head down to FL, but that fell through. So I'm interested in doing something.

I suggest you got to the place JoshCook took us, up at Lake Blue Ridge. That was an awesome spot.
You could also go to slow moving river like the Broad, but you would want to set up a car to shuttle back to the put in.
If you had some time, driving up off HWY11 Cherokee Foothills PKWY is the jam! You could go by Lake Jocassee at Devils Fork Stars Park.

Extremely nice up in that area. You should do this at some point.

Who wants to go ride at Big Creek this weekend?

Gonna be heading to fresh bikes right next to big creek to demo all I can. Will most likely be Saturday, but possibly Sunday. I’ve never ridden there and would love to ride with someone who’s familiar with the trails there!

I ride locally on dirt. Don’t have much fun riding street in Atlanta. Got hit a couple times and been put down a couple more.
I will ride thru Atlanta to get to my destination. Where you at? I am down to ride.

Marietta, don’t ride down here either. Leave here early and head north. Or truck up north.

You wanna ride this weekend? My plans to head to NC got delayed by a couple days.
Or if you wanna go with me to NC let me know, I got a couple extra bedrooms at the cabin. It’s 30mins north of Asheville, sitting right in the middle of the best triangle the east has to offer. Seriously, the spot my place is in has been written about in several motorcycle books.

Speaking of close to Asheville, have you done Hurricane Creek?

That's one that I've been wanting to do for a while, but can't justify a 4 hour drive for one trail...

I hear you there. I also hear that the trail isn't all that difficult. Suitable for a completely stock 4x4. So it's a 4 hour drive for potentially not much excitement.

On the other hand, there is some beautiful country up there and I'm sure a camping weekend could be had. I wanted to do Richland Road in Lenoir for years. Finally went to do it this year and it has been closed for about a year. Apparently. folks weren't taking care of the road and disturbing the private property on either side. There is talk of a similar thing happening to Hurricane Creek, so we should probably go sooner than later if we are going to do it.

I've heard of a few 2WD's hitting it, of course took good lines and a locker but still.

We could definitely plan for a long weekend or something, plus look for trails close by or just camp at JB's place if it's not too far

We ended up doing the Amicolola Falls Trail. It was a LOT of steps, but totally worth the view from the top.

    BCv5O1QL0X5zRlta_a4UX4LDPI4b8sFeDnOrCQUr_cdeab767cde780afe14b5f7534dfeb71f89de53c.jpg

Bonus: Apparently there is a prohibition era truck that drove over the falls back in the day. There are several parts along the trail where you can find old car parts. My wife spotted the bumper under the stairs at one point, which is what prompted us to look it up. Pretty cool find.
