Prinsu vs Victory 4x4

I want to hear your guys thoughts/opinions and advice on the Prinsu vs Victory 4x4 Roof racks .
Would be going on a 2019 trd sport Dbl Cab Long bed.

Usage would be mainly for a few yearly camping trips, snowboarding trips, and well they look pretty damn good. (Yes they are both a little overkill for my current needs)

How noisy are they? Rust? Sturdy? Installation Light cut outs? Etc..

Well I just saw a Prinsu rack bend from a guy that used it to hang a hammock on the forum today... ehhhh

 

Oh and if you’re looking for light cut outs side or rear facing, neither of the two have it. UpTop racks do tho. But a bit pricey

 

Prinsu all day. Plenty of options for mounting whatever. You can mount pods on the back of the rack for rear facing light. I just ordered Baja Designs S2 Pros in amber. For side lights, Rigid makes a flush mount scene light that I’ve seen a few guys install on here. Installation is super easy and straight forward. Have had ZERO issues with mine. Wind noise is barely noticeable with radio on a low setting when i take my plano cases off. Truly a top notch product.

I would be happy to answer any specific questions about the Victory 4x4 rack.

There is certainly more wind noise than not having a rack, but it's not annoying; my MT's are louder.
I didn't lose any MPG with the rack, but with the lift, 35's, and 4.88s it was pretty bad already
The only steel on ours is the mounting feet. And those are zinc rich primer coated before powder, so no rust issues. We also powder coat the aluminum extrusion crossbars instead of buying black anodized. That way they won't fade.
All the hardware is stainless.

I just got back from a 4,000 mile trip to Overland Expo, with 400 some miles on dirt and trails. On the rack was 10 gallons of fuel, 2 gallons of water, a 40" Rigid lightbar, and a pair of treadboards. I was not taking it easy on the truck and the rack was rock solid. Very happy with it.

 

Not the rack's fault his buddy did something...not smart...

and a flat aluminum plate is totally gonna bend like that regardless. That's not how a roof rack is meant to be used or distribute loads.

 

For what it's worth I lost about 1 MPG adding on my Prinsu.

Can't comment on the roof rack directly, but I'm a local guy (to Victory) who had their blitz sliders installed just a couple days ago and am thoroughly impressed with the product thus far. The staff is also extremely customer service oriented and took me on a tour of the building while I was waiting to pick my truck up. Got to see the racks in production and the powder coating process and wouldnt hesitate to buy one if I needed one from them.

 

I would assume so. Only because with the fiberglass it's important to distribute the load as much as possible, those companies already make those tracks, and they work well.

 

Prinsu - Ours was part of the 2016 GB.
It's been awesome, was on our 2nd gen then moved it to the 3rd.

As others have said, that was user error. They secured a hammock to the end of the prinsu that is outside the mounting points, so the siderails deflected. It was looked like that prinsu was on a topper. Victory doesn't look like they make a topper version, but I would bet a lateral force at the rear of their rack outside the support mounting points could bend too.

I've attached a hammock to my prinsu, but between the mounting points (close to one of them). Worked fine.

From what I can tell, the biggest difference looks to be styling and price between the two. If you like the styling of the Victory, then the price looks right. I have a prinsu and am very happy, but the Victory's not a bad looking rack.

Probably put it in the middle, I've used my hammock but attached it to the foot where it bolts to the cab.

 

Ours has only been on the market for a month or so now, so a ton of reviews may be harder to come by. But I know of a few in the wild for sure.
