I mean, I don't really know how to think about something like this. On one hand, yeah you read an article like that and think, shit, is my truck safe?

But then think about it, ANYTHING we do to our trucks is different than what Toyota designed for those tests. They don't test them with aftermarket bumpers, or lifts, etc.. Hell who is to say those things don't reduce safety stuff, but could make it worse?

We don't think a lot about these things, but stuff like what Mike posted does bring up good points to what is sometimes in the back of our heads. When we did my chop, we did brainstorm some extra bracing and stuff in the future. This does bring some light to that, and it is something I would like to do sooner now. I try to not overthink shit, cause then I would just sell the damn thing

You make a solid point on that. I saw the video an now 2nd guessing the cab relocate sitting in the garage. But however I don’t want to live my life in fear. If you take were to sustain an impact like that would be shear chance.
But if you do decide to sell let me snag them Kings we’ll slap on some ome 886s so you don’t lose lift.

    Or icons :D

I mean who is to say we can't make that mount stronger in the end? The oem mount is flat in the front, so its not like a "ramp" that slides the tire outwards on an impact. Again, overthinking..

Think about what takes the impact first.. you never know. No telling what an aftermarket bumper could push or cause anything to move behind it no matter how it's designed..

I would be more worried about the tube bumper in a crash than the cam mount. But when your up next we add some gussets to it.

It always happens when people post things like that..

In the end, the only way to have the end results as the truck in the video, is to leave the truck you bought alone. On the other hand, any other angles of a crash like that can hinder the results as well..

What do Eric and his friends say these days? YOLO?!
