good news ! things are looking up

 

What happened.? Hope all is well

 

My last job my boss would and has called me while in the hospital.

 

He was hit by a Dodge Sprinter Van on our street last Friday.

 

Unfortunately my boss' solutions make about as much sense. Then when you figure out a sensible solution no one wants to do it because it is too much work. But OVERTIME COSTS!!!!!! Here at least we make decisions solely based on money, not what it the best solution. Considering staffing has been a problem for 3 years maybe the solution is to make it a better place to work....but who am I.

I do training, and had to explain that 1 hr per day to set up and tear down was more cost effective than 20 people sitting here watching me do it because she wants me to work the same hours as training is scheduled. Not to mention it is unprofessional as hell not to be set up when class is supposed to be starting. It also sends a great message to the staff, don't worry about showing up on time, we won't be ready for you. Sorry for the rant, seems as if we both could use some new scenery.

Not sure how I missed this, but I hope all is going well Craig. I haven't been able to log much over the last few weeks. Children's of Pittsburgh is amazing, can't imagine it is different anywhere else. Prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

He had a compound fracture to his left arm, concussion, multiple face lacerations, and lost his front tooth.
He was hospitalized for 4 days but is home recovering now.

He got very lucky

 

I feel for him. Thats rough. I wish him the best. Ill keep him in prayers.

 

Wow, I cannot even imagine what that is like as a parent.

Looking for a high clearance bumper if anyone has a lead on one. I think I have decided to for go the swingout.

 

It's crazy, passed three speed way blue, the one was lifted real nice, couldn't grab my phone fast enough, but it was pretty well built. Kinda mad, But I got a new sticker for mine while I was out here. Actually come to think of if, most of them are pretty well built up out here.

 

Sorry to hear about this Craig, passing on positive thoughts for his quick recovery. Glad he's home.

 

We just got the overtime report. We're a pretty good amount over from last year. We hand it out like it's candy. They'll cut back for a month or so, then it's back to candyland. We have way too many projects going on for OT to be cut. I have about 180 OT hours YTD. Most of the people in my 21 man department are around the same amount of hours for the year.

@HomerTaco Glad to hear your son is home and getting better. Sending positive thoughts and wishing him a speedy recovery. Let me know if you need anything.
