I went and got a quote this weekend for a local place to order me a Westin Bull Bar, and install it! They quoted me $700, which seems ridiculous, please let me know if I am wrong. Once I got home I came home and found the bull bar I want plus the license plate relocation kit on autoanything for about $400. I plan to install it myself, can someone please lend me some advice when doing this or inform me how hard it is?? Is their anyway to keep my skid plate on??

If this is in the wrong spot please move MODS!!! :D:D

Wow, I've got a Westin Bull Bar with Light Mounts. It's nice to know I'll be able to get $400.
It's a really easy bolt on, and yes you can keep the stock skid plate. Look under there for 2 holes on each frame rail, under your stock bumper.

Ebay has a ton of them for sale...brand new.

I would rethink the bull bar thing though if I were you.

I've never liked bull bars, if you take your truck off road at all it will ruin your approach angle. The lightbar jdrhodes has in his gallery looks much more clean if you want to keep your stock front bumper, imo.

Everyone has their own opinion and thats what makes each members truck unique. A lot of guys don't like bullbars and thats fine, but if you do then go with it. Besides you are the one paying for it and its your truck.

The Westin bull bar is mainly for looks and to hold some lights...doesn't really offer any protection. You can keep your skid plate and the license plate will be fine in the stock location.

I think they are cheesy. And actually detract from the looks of the front end. IMHO

I really hate how they have "Westin" cut into the "skid plate" part of the bull bar.

I bet there is a Tacoma owner out there that has de-badged his truck of all Tacoma & Toyota and added a "Westin" bar on the front. LOL

I'm not a fan of Bull Bars. Oh wait, I'm wanting to get rid of mine.

It's not that they're weak, but the way they mount makes them give if they're really put to task, damaging everything they're intended to protect.

As for mounting lights, they don't have any light tabs, however I welded tabs on mine. It looks factory (see above post with photo).
